I have a very feminine double first name (think Rose-Katherine, Lisa-Ann, Mary-Sue, etc). A few weeks ago, junk mail started rolling in addressed to MR Rose-Katherine. This includes three beautiful sets of address labels from companies wanting a donation. Don't human eyes ever glance at this stuff somewhere during processing?
The kicker is, the Direct Marketing Association (who already has my name under Ms. Rose-Katherine) now charges to get off of their list. It's only $1, but since I never asked to be on their list in the first place, I don't think I should have to give them a check with my bank account number or a credit card whenever someone decides to christen me with a new name.
