MR trip reports

Did anyone do the Zipline excursion in PV or Cabo? In reading some of the DCL excursions (dolphin swims, Canopy zip line tours, etc.) for the MR cruise it specifically states that you can't bring a camera and/or that photos will be available for purchase. Does anyone know what the price of the photos would be? If we book the zipline tour, I'd love to have a picture of my DS on it but, after paying almost $100 each for the excursion am wondering what the picture would cost.

I saw that too, but then there was no other mention of it. Can someone fill us in on when this was held? If you went to it, could you tell us about which character(s) were there and what it was like?

I'm not sure how frequently they did them but we did the tea party on the first sea day at 4 pm. They had Peter Pan, Belle, Ariel, and Cinderella. Everyone got cookies and apple juice.
When we boarded the ship I immediately went to guest services and waited about 1/2 an hour for our tickets. (Each person does require a ticket.) I would say the room was set for no more than 60 people.
Each of the characters spoke, took pictures and danced with the kids.

We booked a private tour through DCL in PV. Among other things we did zipline and were not allowed to take our cameras. They had a photographer follow us and take both stills and video. A CD of the pictures was $45 and the video and stills were $85.
I'm not sure if we went to the same zipline place as the regular DCL excursion or not.

I can't finy anything listed on the Navigators about a Galley Tour.
Were there any kitchen tours offered?

The Galley Tours and Tea Party are both mentioned in the first day's navigator. You are supposed to go to the guest services desk and get tickets for them. The Galley Tours were on Saturday and they were not very impressive. Very short, 10-15 minutes from start to finish.

Curious if anyone knows if they changed the charge of Palo to $20 or not? The "Cruise at a Glance" Navigator that was posted still says its a $15 charge. Not that the $5 would stop me from going to Palo!!!!

I was charged 15 for brunch at Palos.

Right now, I am furious with Shutters. I purchased the photo CD, had all my grandkids posing with characters, formal night shots....the photos they said would be on my CD are not there. I unpacked this evening and inserted the CD into my PC and had an unhappy surprise. I have 108 pics, they took out all the ones of the grandkids and half the ones from pirate nite with my grandson and my daughter being silly. The ones that were linked to my room and my key card in the first place. On Saturday, I had given them the heads up that there were additional photos that should have been linked to my room and rather than link those 20-30 additional photos, they deleted over 50 photos AND did not link /insert those photos AFTER telling me no problem. Made a phone call at 8 p.m. and requested immediate return call tomorrow before the photos are deleted from their hard drive.

So would you still recommend the Galley Tour or did you think it was a waste of your time? I was thinking of checking it out this time, but I wouldn't want to schedule my day around something that isn't worth it.:confused3

We have High Tea on Sat. afternoon.
Which would be better Galley Tour (any free samples?) or High Tea?

Thanks to all who have posted their experiences about the Wonder and Mexico. We're sailing on the March 20th cruise (our first DCL cruise), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the kinks will be worked out by then. Especially with the kids club as our youngest is looking forward to it.

Oh, and So_Oregon thanks for the heads up on the Duck Tee shirt info. I'll make sure my freshman at the U of O and the rest of us wear our Duck shirts just in case the Auburn fan is working customs again. ;) Gotta mess with them for fun.....Especially now that Cam has left their house. :cool1:

HA!! Too bad you're not on the 3/13 sailing, our orange and blue would blind you! :) Warrrr Eagle!! :)

Thanks so much for the Navigators! One question, are these the ones that will be on our sailing? Do they change much sailing to sailing?

Thanks!
Tara

I think a lot depends on what itinerary you've got. We've go back to back Cabo so our Navigators will obviously differ. I think this gives me a good idea of what to expect though.

It was interesting, but not at all what I expected. I wouldn't plan my day around it, but it is in the middle of the afternoon on a sea day so there may not be too much going on anyway. I would get the tickets and then cancel the night before if the navigator had an activity listed that I didn't want to miss. If you cancel your slot will go to someone on the wait list, but I don't think the tickets really matter since they didn't even ask to see ours.

It was my understanding that the 1/23 cruise was the last one to have a $15 charge for Palo. It should be $20 now.

I would expect that the navigators will be almost the same, just out of order slightly. I wish we had Cabo back to back, the way it was split up made the Cabo days almost too short to enjoy. It sounds like other cruise lines are back in Mazatlan now so Disney may change it up again soon and put Mazatlan back in the mix, they are currently showing it on the itinerary for later this year.

This may be a dumb question but has anyone participated in or gone to the talent show? My 8 year old is thinking of participating but wants to know what the prize is.

Do you remember around what time?
We have Palo Tea at 3pm that day.:)

We got the first time, it was at 2:45. It started at about 2:43 and was over just after 2:55. If you hurry you could make it to Palo, you exit the tour into the Parrot Cay dining room, so you could just hop on the elevator adjacent to the dining room and be there in less than 5 minutes.

The tours ran every 5 minutes, I know that they had them at 2:45, 2:50 and 2:55, but I don't know how many more they had.

Does anybody know if we can go to the show at 2:30pm no matter we're first or late seating of dining? Just noticed that the three shows my family most interested, The Golden Mickeys, Toy Story, and Dreams, are showing three times a day. And those are sea days. So I'm wondering could we just go to the afternoon show, which is better for younger kids.

TIA from a newbie

We went to the matinee of all three shows (little ones). None of them were full.
