I read a while back about buying a Mr Potato Head before going to WDW and then getting just parts.......The other day at our BJ's warehouse store I saw a Potato Head multipack....2 reg potato heads, +2 smaller heads, with LOTS of parts.....great for a family! (I only need one for DD6, so didn't get it) It was only $14.99.

Sounds like a great deal then you can get Disney pieces on a trip to WDW.

I had to post because right now my 3 yr old daughter and my 3 yr old niece are playing with our potato head (Disney pieces) right now beside me. They are doing a great job sharing for the moment but another one would be great. What pieces do they have at WDW now? We are leaving in 5 days. I got mine about 2 yrs ago. I am sure they have added some new pieces.

Thanks.
Pam

We just got back and I bought to boxes, without them in front of me I'll try to tell you what we got. If I remember the boxes were $18.00 for as much as you can stuff, ask for assistance from cast members because on my second box I just could not get it to close and she did it for me.

Black mickey hat/ears.
Minnie shoes.
left and right arms hold the following
autograph books
mickey shaped ice cream
mickey balloon
suitcase
little mermaid wig
little mermaid green dress.
donald sailor hat
donald beak
goofy hat with ears.
mickey shoes
minnie princess hat
statue of liberty hat
MGM mickey hat
AK hat.

I can't remember what else I bought, but this is some of the stuff.

I was there last month and they had just gotten in a bunch of new stuff. I filled another box with all new stuff. Some that I can think of were:

Pirate eyes
Tinkerbelle (Hair, wand, feet, wings)
Statue of Liberty
Pin Trading Lanard
Pretzel
Minnie Bow
Drink
Slice of Pizza
Pal Mickey
Box of Popcorn
Mickey Trick or Treat Pumpkin
Mickey Feet

Those sound so neat! Can you get them at Disneyland too? We are going in 2 weeks!! I would love to get them for my girls. They would be a great toy for them to play with in the car on the way home from DL.

Were Can You Purchease Those At In Disney. Do They Give You A Box And You Fill For A Certain Amount Of Money?

As far as I know they can only be purchased in Downtown Disney. You get a box and you can fill it with as many pieces as you can fit in the box, but the lid must be able to close. When we were there in January I believe it was $18.00 to fill the box. The inside tip is to purchase your Mr Potato Head somewhere less expensive and just fill the box up with the Disney accessories. The kids can also build different Mr Potato head with all different clothes, eyes, ect on a computer screen and print out their designs for free while you are there.

You can also purchase them in MGM. I think it's at the store on the corner of the main street and the street that takes you to TOT.

When getting the pieces - don't forget the special arms that hold the parts. We didn't get the arms and had to buy parts from e-bay to be able to use them. These arms are specially made for Disney parts.

Other accessories include a dumbo ride and yellow poncho. (sold seperately - not included with box).

DD loves playing with her Disney potato head pieces

DTD has the largest Mr. Potato Head selection compared to the other parks (MGM and Epcot have them too, not sure about AK). If you forget a piece they are also available for $2.00 per piece.

Oh boy! Another thing to put on the *must have* list! :rolleyes1 I had a blast last time filling that box! :rotfl:

A while back I bought a small round tub with Daddy Potato, Momma Potato and baby with parts all for 9.99 at Target (not a sale :goodvibes ) That seemed like a really good deal.

We filled the box last month at Once Upon a Toy Store in Downtown Disney and a resident "expert" regarding potato head parts (sorry :rotfl2: ) said that store was the best one to get the parts. We had a ball and I have caught DH still sticking parts in potato people long after the children have left the room. (shhhhhhh :rolleyes1 )

You have good man.
My kids 2, 8, and 9 all love their pototo heads- they are so fun.

For those in the NYC area, don't forget the World of Disney Parts.

Among them

Police Hat
Statue of Liberty torch (and crown I think)
NYC map
(and other parts I can't see right now because I'm at work and don't want to have 5000 Mr. Potato Head parts spread across my desk when my boss walks in)

Also there is Darth Tator and Spud Trooper!

The coolest parts we got were the "Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin" ride...that was in the fill up a box section for $18 along with his space ranger guns. The Dumbo ride was also available, but that was sold separately though.

I bought "Darth Tatar" and one whole $18 box full of pieces.

We were there over Labor Day weekend and my daughter got stuff at AK.. It was somewhere near the Dinosaur.. Cant remember exactly where, but they do have them at AK.. This was one of the things on our list.. Cant wait to go back and get some more goodies..

Always buy the body at home! I just found Darth Tater at Walmart for $5 in clearance asile. Will bring as a surprize foe DS. Then he will have plain Mr Potato,( Regular pieces come with Darth Tatar) Darth Vader and Disney one all for $23 and he has a great time picking out pieces

Just a tip....Ask a cast member at DTD to stuff the box for you.....I was fumbling at it trying to get the things my daughters wanted into the box and a CM came along and started doing it for me, I think she got three times the amount of pieces in there that I would have!! It was great, I definitely felt like we got our money's worth after she put everything in there!

Thanks for sharing this! I had no idea. That's the neatest thing. I will keep that in mind when we visit WDW. My kids would have a ball. :)
