I won't even pretend that this if for my kids....... it's for me. Ever since I heard about this "all you can pack in a box potato head parts" thing I've been looking forward to it! I'm much more excited than an adult should be about how fun this could be.

What parts do you recommend for my little buddy? I know I'll be overwhelmed when I see that display and huge bins..... any "best parts" or favorite parts?

Thanks!

Just don't pack a potato in the box! Without the potato, you can fit a whole lot more parts.

Don't forget to pack some arms (left & right).

I like getting the mickey ears, autograph book, mickey ice cream bars, mickey balloon, sorcerer hat, fireman's hat, minnie's bow, hmmm... so much to get.

I say just get 2 boxes then you'll be set!

Oh, BTW, pick up a Darth Tater too!

I plan on getting one too! (maybe 2) :rotfl:

In my opinion, you can get just about one of everything! :flower:
(unless they have added more since we got ours!)

There are some cool things like mickey ballon, mickey bar, autograph book, movie camera, mouse ears, tea cup for potato to sit in like he is on the tea cup ride... lol!

My hubby got real creative trying to get it all in the box! haha!
the guy working there told us the box didnt have to close perfectly, just had to close.. so the top of our box was bulging! looked rediculous! :rotfl:
have fun!
I have heard they have the same type thing now with my little ponys!
i hope so!

I just saw a picture on the gallery here of Mr. Potato Head with a Darth Vader mask and helmet. It was called Darth Tater! :rotfl:

The question is....can I hold out until next Monday, our DTD day???
I've seen a big display in that large store in Toontown....would they have the same stuff or should I just go for Once Upon a Toy at DTD??
I'll try to get a tater head at walmart before we go.

when we went in October - I did not get a potato - and then got all the Disney related pieces and figured that I could get eyes etc elsewhere - I put in all the big things first and packed the little things around it as I went up - I got every Disney thing and some eyes, etc - the one stupid thing I did was that I did not get arms that could hold things - like the sign and balloon - so make sure you get a left and right hand for this - make sure when you get hand things - arms, gloves etc that you get left and right - I never even thought about them being different!!!

when I checked out the guy told me I had the best stuffed box he had ever seen - remember it can be bulging - it just has to close

I did this last year. I love my tater head! Make sure you try the arms, some of them were not fitting well. My potatoe was sitting in the teacup, packed quite well this way.

I almost bought the kit you were talking about but glad I didn't. It was so much more fun picking out the pieces individually.

I have a name tag for him, but no clue where it goes! Any ideas? :confused3

I would go to DTD - they have the complete stuff.

BTW, they also have the rain poncho and a dumbo ride base you can buy separately for $5 each.

If you do decided to get the potatoe, don't forget the stuff the heck out of him before you put him in the box. It's amazing what you can fit inside that guy!

About how much (potato and all) is one box anyway? I saw this in DTD when I went last March, but I had a nasty cold by that point and kind of ignored it.

Can you pay the $18.00 for a box of parts and then buy the potato separately?

I want to buy two of these as gifts for my kindergarten class.

Anyone have tips for the My Little Pony box?

Thanks for all the great tips. I WILL hold out for DTD!

$9.99

A box with anything you can stuff in it is $18. Buy the potato at Walmart then you can stuff more of the little things instead.

We did this a couple of weeks ago in DTD. Before we left home I bought our DS a Mr. Potato Head $5 at Walmart and our DS a Mrs. Potato Head, also $5. At Once Upon a Toy (I think that is the right name of the store) It has a giant Mr. Potato Head out front and has lots of toys from yesteryear inside, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, etc. You can fill a box with as many parts as you can get inside for $18. Had read on this board to fit smaller hats and parts inside bigger ones. This is what we got - Mickey Safari hat, Minnie Safari Hat, Top Hat, Wedding Veil Hat, Sorcerer Hat, Goofy ears Hat, Princess Minnie Hat, Mickey Ears Hat, Minnies Bow Hat, Flower to add to Minnie Safari Hat, 4 arms (2 left, 2 right), 2 Mickey ice cream bars, 2 Mickey autograph books, 2 Mickey balloons, mustache, 2 sets of eyes, some glasses, Buzz light year laser gun, I know I am forgetting a few things.....but we got lots of parts to dress up two potato heads many different ways. The box is kind of like a Happy Meal box not quiet as wide but a little taller, as long as it closes you get everything inside for $18. Put small stuff inside bigger things, we didn't get any extra feet although they did have some cute ones, they just took up lots of room and the kids were more into all the different hats etc.

Oh this sounds like so much fun! I must confess that I got so excited when I saw the new My Little Pony display where you can stuff all their things into a box as well (I grew up loving My Little Pony). I wanted to do it, but I was too embarrassed. I think I’ll just get over that and go for it! :cool1:

You can get Star Wars parts for the Mr. Potato Head? If so, where? I got a Mr. Potato Head on our last trip, the parts are so cute! I don't remeber which park we got it at.

Oh I can't wait to do this when we go!! We have four potato heads (2 big & 2 little) already and am excited to get some Disney stuff for them!!

They have Darth Tater over at DTD. It's a whole potato with a Darth Vader mask, light saber, cape and shoes.
