I don't know about the lego boxes but the Mr. Potato head box is $19 for as much as you can stuff in (or $46 for a large plastic case). You can get them at DTD (Once upon a toy), AK-gift shop after Dinosaur, and Toontown in MK.
Mousegears in EPCOT also has a large display of Mr. Potato Head parts. My suggestion is to NOT get the potato, just fill up the box with the parts. My DH got quite a laugh when he saw me trying to strategically get in all of the parts I wanted into the box. The thing barely closed, but I managed

Potato head---If the castmembers aren't too busy, you can have them help you repack your goodies in the box. They've helped me both times and I was amazed at how much they fit.
potato head parts are at MGM too. Can't remember the store name but it is on the left, on the corner if you were turning to go down the street to ToT.
and Epcot @ Mousegears
and DTD @ the Once upon a toy store ~ MLP stuff a box here and make your own lightsaber too
you don't have to be able to close the box if you get it at Mousegears. Ours didn't even come close to closing and they didn't care. At the toy store I did get it to barely close and the CM taped it down for me.
Just an FYI- Target has the Halloween Mr Potato Head on sale this week for $ 3.99.. I just bought one today....planning on stocking up on the disney parts next month

Its like pick & mix sweets. You get a box and fill it with as many Mr potato head parts as is inhumanly possible.
I too would agree to forget the potato (but I've got loads). When I was there last year it took me about 20 mins to get everything in. Putting bits inside others. There was a boy getting some pieces and then when his mum seen how I was doing it she tipped them all out and said to him "No, no you do it like that, copy him". Then when I went to the checkout I got a compliment from the CM and she showed it to the others behind the desk!
The MPH and MLP are both the same concept... you get a paper box and can fill them up (as much as you can pack and close) for $19.00 or $19.99 (I can't remember which). We did not get the MLP but did end up getting two boxes of MPH and a great big plastic MPH ($46.95). It was sooooo fun packing it but lots more fun playing with it! We change our three MPH's weekly. There are fun pieces you can only get at DL & WDW! We have POTC (including pirate eyes, boots, hat, and parrot), Tink wings and lantern, Mickey pizza, Mickey ice cream bars, complete Buzz Lightyear parts, Mickey head balloons, the list could go on and on and on! It is a really fun souvenier! If you do decide to buy one (or more) or your next trip I would suggest you buy the MPH itself at a store like Walmart (or you may have one at home already) and pack the box or container with parts only. If you do not, make sure to pack the MPH insides full of small parts before packing him/her in the box. Both of these options are allowed! Have fun!
JFYI.....my original MPH, not Disney related, does not have the correct size openings for some of the Disney pieces. On my first trip we purchased one body and filled it with pieces, then put that into the box and surrounded it with other pieces. Since then, we only buy pieces. One Disney body surfices with the original taking up the slack. Have a great time playing with MPH!!
