MR on the Wonder - Mar 18 2012

We will be sailing on 3/18 to MR on Wonder...our 2nd cruise on DCL and the whole family is couting down the days! :)

Yay! Welcome! We did a MR cruise earlier this year also & loved it! In fact we just got home from taking the kids to San Diego, Sea World etc & my kids said 'it was fun, but id rather go on a Disney cruise' where abouts in CA are you?

We are in Thousand Oaks. I am very tempted by the Kids Sail Free promo, but I can't decide whether it's worth paying the extra $$ to stick with our original date.

You know they have the SoCal resident deal now too? I have been thinking of it BUT I really don't want to pull my kids out of school - so I think I'll stick with spring break. I also think that they may offer some kind of discount for this cruise - if you are with a TA they will check that & get the difference back for you. We just switched to DU, in the hope that they do that for us :thumbsup2

So funny that they three of us live so close, TO, Moorpark & Simi :rotfl2:

Hi
We just got off our back to back on the Disney Dream and are ready to start planning our MR cruise in March!
We have not been in Disney Wonder since 7/05!
We have been going back to Magics 7 day cruises!

So there are 4 of us Ed, Michelle then DD 13y DS 16y .

Typically we love our Castaway Cay Days.
In this Itinerary is there any beaches that we can just relax?

We are going to stay at Disney for 2 days before the cruise and will take transport to port!
We are flying back Sunday afternoon!

Hopefully more people will be joining us !

Big Ed

DW *almost* moved our trip to this date, but there was no early dining available, so we are sticking with 4/22. I dont mind late dining, maybe I can convince her.....

Howdy
Just checking if anybody out there getting any plans yet?
We are still wondering what will the best tours would be?
Ed

Hey all & welcome! We did this exact same cruise this year & we did the dolphin swim in Puerto Vallarta, which was great for DS7 & DD4. That was pretty much all we did - kids love hanging on the ship while everyone else is off & we have done Mexico before, so I'm happy to! The zip line tour is VERY popular tho & I'm thinking of that this cruise. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Twindaddy, I'm sure you would get early dining if you went on a wait list this early - from this meet, I'm guessing our cruise is not so full! This time last year, our meet thread was full & the fe lists were already started!! :)

I know it seems so far away, but we are already excited in our house :thumbsup2

Hi
Was checking the different tours in MR
So far it seems we are drawn toward beach breaks.
In Cabo there is;
Beach resort getaway and a resort pool getaway?
Anybody have any idea if one is more desirable than other?
My kids are 13 and 16

In mazatlan
All inclusive Beach Resort?
Or Deer Island catamaran cruise!

In Puerto Vallarta
Las Caletas Hideaway?

Ed

Hi
Wondering where the rest of the crew for our March 18 Disney Wonder is hiding?
We are very exited this will be our 8th Disney Cruise and our First
Mexican riviera cruise!
We are starting to get close to the 7 month mark!
We are planning (if available) on booking DVC Grand California Lodge for the stay prior to Cruise! The kids never been to the Original Disneyland!

Hoping more people join and hopefully we can participate on a FE exchange!

We did this cruise for President's Day this year and went on a zip line excursion in Puerta Vallarta. I was nervous about it since we had never done it but it was so much fun! There were bridges, ladders and repeling as well. It was $99/pp I think. My 67 year old Mother did it with us and loved it too.

I would really like to do the dolpin swim with my 8 year old. Does anyone know if the Puerta Vallarta or Cabo one is better?

I am also excited. Our kids don't know about the cruise. We are debating on telling them at Christmas or maybe we will just drive there and not let them know at all! :rolleyes1

We did the Puerto Vallarta & it was really cool. As I believe the major difference is that at the Puerto Vallarta one you can take your own photos. I am a BIG photo taker so that was huge for me! We had fun, Luke was 7 & Lola was 4. She was a little more nervous, but did everything - Luke wished that he had done the actual swimming with dolphins, instead of the 'meet' one. I think he missed out on age, but they said we could change it. The place was really nice tho, I would do it again, but I do think the zip line will be calling us this time! Do you think my then 5YO could manage it??

Big Ed - yes, it sure is slow! My last one was full by now & we had a HUGE FE list (actually we had to split in 2 groups!) I'm hoping we get some more peeps soon, I'm already working on my FE's :yay:

Hello

My daughter(13) did the trainer for a Day in Nassau and it was a once in a lifetime experience! When she was young she did the Dolphin meet and it was very enjoyable and memorable! It made for a nice base to eventually "graduate" to a trainer for a Day!

Now regarding our cruise........
We were able to book Grand California Resort tru DVC for our Pre stay!!
We are really glad! This will be my Kids 1st time in California!
So first time for them in Disneyland!
We are still leaning toward beach time vs zip line etc.

I Wonder if they will revise the ship schedule and give us the Cabo x 2 like the fall cruises?
I would almost prefer another day at Sea instead of landing in Cabo 2 days in a row!

Anybody else has plans before cruise?

Big Ed & crew

Hi
Seems like Disney Decided to change the rest of the MR sailings to 2 stops in Cabo!
All dates until the Hawaian cruise will not have Maxatlan!
I guess the good thing is we get more time in Cabo to check out different places!

What do you guys think of the News!

I also received that call today and quickly had to make up a lie about it. My kids heard Disney cruise when I played the messages after we got home. I told them it was just a message asking us to consider going on another cruise! Phew...

I just paid our deposit for the March 18th MR cruise today. This was a 'last' minute decision and our whole family is over the moon!
Our crew will be my DH, DD (8), and DD(3). We are also dragging along my mom and her friend.
Can't wait!

Shawna

I've been AWOL for a little while - but welcome Shawna :cheer2: glad to have more join us! I'm not too bothered about the cancelled stop - it';; be just like last time on our MR & I quite enjoyed the 2 Cabo days.

Now is anyone interested in a FE? We did it on our last cruise & had a really big group & my kids LOVED it - they were so excited to get back to our room & check the FE! I know I can't get away without doing it again this year

It's not like I'm obsessed with our cruise & have started making FE gifts already.... :rolleyes1

Hi
We would like to join in the FE.
Ed/Michelle + DS 16y DD 13y.
We had a great time doing the FE on our back to back on the Dream!
There we had about 30 Cabins!!!!
So far it seems a little more subdued in this sailing !
Hopefully we will get more joiners in the next few months!!
Big Ed
