MR October 28, 2012 "Halloween Time"

Thanks for the clarification on the late comers. I can't wait to get this vacation started!!!
I'm right there with you! I was walking through a parking lot with lorelei today and bouncing her up and down trying to prepare her for the motion. lol. A few weeks ago we took her on a little boat up at morro bay and she loved it, except...she FREAKED with the life vest. The emergency drill is going to be interesting! : scared:

OK...I've been waiting almost a year to say this....

Our cruise is THIS MONTH! WooHoo!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

This weekend = Disneyland
The next weekend = My nephews birthday party
The following weekend = nothing planned - maybe Disneyland Halloween party :confused3
10/26 = our 10 year wedding anniversary
10/28 = OUR CRUISE :cheer2: :cool1: pirate: :cheer2: :cool1: pirate:

It's going to go by so quickly! Totally getting excited! We have old door magnets but I'm going to make some Halloween ones for this cruise!

Us too, we booked just about a year ago! We will be drinking down the day before and saying in long beach, we plan on going to downtown Disney to hv dinner the night before! Has anyone checked the weather? PV has 70 percent humidity and a very high chance of hot rain.

So, I was thinking about possibly staying in a hotel the night before, too, and going to downtown Disney. I am a bad mom...I told my kids we weren't going, that I cancelled the cruise because I wanted to surprise them with it. :rotfl2:
So, I was thinking we could go there and just go to downtown Disney as a sort of consolation prize.
My question is, how cool is downtown Disney? Is it worth it just to go hang out there?

DH and I really enjoy Downtown Disney - it isn't as large as the WDW one. But it does have a LEGO store, World of Disney, Build a Bear, Ridemakerz, a move theater and a lot of great places to eat. Plus you can check out the Grand Californian and the Disneyland Hotel. You can even see the fireworks.

My sister just text messaged me a picture of my cruise documents! Yay!! Wish I had them here to look at!

We are staying in Long Beach the night before, too. We don't know where yet because where I want to stay is too expensive, so we will probably just priceline something. Our plan is to go to Aquarium of the Pacific the day before the cruise. We will also be staying 1 night near Disneyland after the cruise and going to DL on Monday for my husband's birthday.

Others will disagree (one already has), but no - I don't think there's a lot to do there. You can shop, eat, and go to the movies - and that's about it. If you like to shop and have the money to shop, then go for it. Yes, stuff like build a bear could be considered an activity but with a bear and an outfit you will be dropping a minimum of $50 just for 1 clothed bear! Just keep in mind there are no real activities aside from the movie theatres. Definitely good food and shopping though. lol, then again, I think it was a little mean to tell them you canceled it. I would think their excitement leading up to it, making door magnets with them for the cabin and other things would be more fun than having sad kids and seeing their face when they see the ship. We're making our door magnets and stuff this weekend and wish Lorelai was old enough to help and have fun with it! But, to each his own. Same with DD, you might love it.

Talk about less stress because I am done shopping for the fe gifts. Hope you all like it.

The main reason why we are going a day before is so we can Relax and not be in a hurry. We have done it both ways in the past: drove up the same day of the cruise and drive up a day prior. We definitely were more relaxed driving up a day before. I know it's spending more money, but its so nice to be showered and relaxes when we get in board vs grimy and wanting I shower first thing . I would much rather spend that time exploring the ship. Last time we stayed at the hotel we haut went swimming and had dinner there and relaxed. It was nice to get our vaca started early. This time we are going withy best friend who is a Disney freak she is the one who suggests we go downtown for dinner and watch the fireworks.

I forgot to mention to you all that I am a new to Disney!! Not just cruise lines, but prior to this trip I hv only been to Disneyland once! And that was with my boy a few years back! Yes I know I was a deprived child!

Got a call earlier today that AAA has our Cruise Docs...heading down in the morning to pick them up....can't wait! :woohoo:

pirate: Arrrggggg....I don't like heat and humidity. Last year in September it was hot and humid (no rain) and it was a little rough. IDK if that heat will mix well with a 2yr old out at las caletas....I'm now a little worried I am asking for trouble LOL

:rotfl: I think that is halarious! Have you seen the Jimmy Kimmel video challenges? The ones where he asked parents to do things like: pretend they ate all their childrens halloween candy & video thier reactions.....HALARIOUS! :lmao: Anyhow, we will be at the Disneyland hotel the night before! Maybe you should join us at DL the day before!!! :cool1:

Grrr. I still don;t have mine. I emailed my TA about them yesterday but haven't heard back from her. :((((

Sorry you haven't got yours yet....but they should be there soon!!
