MR October 28, 2012 "Halloween Time"

Is it possible to add a late FE couple? Just dh and I. Will most likely get a late cabin assigned. We are FL res and just got off the dream last month with our kids and want to go again. We have participated in the FE gifts twice now and loved it. Let me know. Would love to be a part of it. :)

Never mind. This is MR cruise right? Was looking for FL.

We haven't, but I'm not surprised. I'm actually surprised they did - I wonder if they asked for theirs early for some reason? :confused3 I was a travel agent for 8 years and typically cruise documents aren't sent until 2 weeks prior to sailing. The only way they would usually send them earlier would be if you told them you won't be in town 2 weeks prior and need them early. Unless they're starting to send them out earlier now! That would be AWESOME! :woohoo: DARN! I want to run out and check the mailbox but my husband has the only key! That does it - we have to get a second mailbox key made :rotfl2:

We didn't request for our documents to be sent earlier.
But, we're very happy to receive it early!
Go check your mailbox ;)

we got our cruise docs too! :cool1: :cloud9: :cool1: :cloud9:

awesome!

No cruise documents today either, but I did go down to the harbor where the ship was docked. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am plus sized too and having a hard time. I cannot find anything in Japan. This is SO not a plus sized friendly country.
I was going to order online but I too am scared about buying something without trying it on. And shipping to APP/FPO is like gambling, it may not even come in time!
One thing I have learned... Fitted actually makes you look smaller than buying something loose and trying to hide your size. Took me a long time to realize that.
Hopefully I will be ok waiting since I will be flying into CA. Just hoping I have enough time before we leave! We are taking a military flight from Japan to CA and seats aren't guaranteed. So we will have no idea what day we get to leave until the day we leave. Yikes!!

Thanks for the tip - I actually discovered that a couple of years ago. The other day my mother in law was trying to help me decide on a dress and kept pushing long gowns. I had to tell her no, that I am SO SHORT and fat that long dresses make me look even shorter and rounder! Seriously, taking away my legs just shortens an already short body (not quite 5'1"). I told her I typically need something WITH a waist line to give me a figure, having some kind of banding or something just under my chest is usually nice. But - it's all moot now, there's been a new development. Ryan found my old dress. I tried it on again and I HATE it. He said since we found the dress it's either that or skip formal night. He said he would rather save the money it would take to buy me a dress ($100 - $150 minimum) plus strapless bra ($50 minimum) plus shoes (god knows how much) and put it towards a possible upgrade the day of the sailing. He REALLY doesn't care about formal night! I told him it would be fun, they have formal Mickey and Minnie that we could take out picture with - but he really just doesn't care. He said my old dress or nothing. :( I don't know, we will either skip it and eat elsewhere that night, or we will go but not go formal (I would just wear slacks and a top). Oh well. I was down on buying a dress at first but then I got excited about it. Too bad...

As for being in Japan, geesh, I couldn't imagine trying to shop for myself there! I really feel for you  On our last sailing people out of town mailed their FE gifts to someone who lived near the port and they just got their stuff from them at the first meet on the ship. If you want to buy something online but are scared because of the military address, you are welcome to use mine. I know it doesn't help you with being able to try it on ahead of time, but if you need to do this to make sure you have your dress - I'm fine with it. Just send me an email and I will give you my info. I can either have the cabin stewards deliver it to your room, or I can bring it to you that first day we board. Just let me know :thumbsup2 About the military flights too - I'm scared for you. How many days ahead of time are you trying to board? I had clients once who booked a cruise through me but took military flights and it kept being delayed and delayed and they missed their cruise!! It's not a covered reason in insurance so they missed their cruise and they were out 100% of the money! Hopefully this doesn't happen to you - I REALLY hope you're able to make it onto a flight alright. Good luck with that!

Yes - this is the Mexican Riviera sailing over Halloween (10/28)

So everyone...what did I tell you?!? This is the THIRD person to ask me about FE who is NOT on our ship!!! What the heck?!? I REALLY don't understand how you get into the wrong cruise group. Odd. Very odd. :rotfl:

Everything is as in our original booking.

Ours too.

As a side note for everyone - I checked the DCL website and it looks like almost every cabin category on inside, outside or balcony is STILL AVAILABLE! We've only been given a complimentary upgrade once - that year the ship was full and it was a last minute thing. The other times we've sailed they DIDN'T give comp upgrades - instead, they keep a list at the check-in desk of cabins available that you can PAY to upgrade to. It's not full price, but it is still a lot of money. If I remember correctly inside to ocean view was nearly $500 and a balcony was almost double that. They try and get the money last minute, which is why they weren't giving away comps. We told them we've sailed many times before and had been given a comp upgrade in the past and they said no - that if it was going to be done they would have done it, but that otherwise, you had to pay for it. It was a REAL bummer! I'm hoping with so many cabin categories still available that they can/will give us a comp upgrade the day of if we ask, but I doubt it. We'll just have to see. I wonder what will happen? :confused3

Gosh, I'm so sorry it's taken so long to get back with that other cabin number, things have been busy; they're in cabin #6037,Steve (21+) and Angie (21+).

We are super excited! It's almost here and we recieved our documents!!

Sorry he found your dress. :(
My sister and BIL actually live in Southern CA and are also going on the cruise, so I am mailing all my FE gifts to her house when they are done. LOL I hope that once they are all made they take up less space! I am also scared people aren't going to like them. I had a hard time with the adults. :/ Thanks so much for the offer tho.

We are starting to try to leave her on the 24th, which is the 23rd there. But I think I am going to have is start trying earlier. The one good thing is once we get on it's a straight shot to CA. Unfortunately it's to Northern CA... But Incan rent a car and drive all day if I have too. We also have the possibility of getting on another Military flight from Northern to Southern CA.

They've been updated - thanks!!

Kidlette, can you PM me your size? I work in the entertainment industry and I need a new dress every other month it seems. (I usually go cocktail instead of formal, but on the Wonder, cocktail is formal) and maybe I have a dress you can have?

Anyway, I can't wear my dresses more than once or twice so they just sit in my closet.

I am plus sized, too.

Got our docs on Friday, it is getting closer and the excitement is building!!

Holloween outfits are done and now time to finish the FEs.

That's good you're giving yourselves 5 days to catch a flight. If you get on the first day then will you have a few days to stop and see your family? That might be nice! Good luck with everything! See you on the ship :)

I got my docs a week ago. I am just about packed too, just gotta do some last minute things like iron some clothes and take se things to the dry cleaners! I believe I am over packed, but better safe than sorry! I don't mind late comers, but we should have a limit on how many more. I believe you said we already had 3 right? Maybe 5 the limit? I don't mean to be a pain I just want to be done and not have to keep adding hangs to my to do list/ luggage. Let me know what you all think. My boys are super excited we are counting down days.

Please re-visit the list on page 1 - you will notice that I have added a latecomer cabin list and there are currently 0 cabins on the latecomer list. Three people have not added. Three people not from our sailing asked to be added and I had to explain to them that they need to find their own group - they do not belong on our list. In any event, please know that you are not required to buy for ANY latecomers - they will simply be told that they can add to the list and give things out, but we can not guarantee how many things they will receive. They may get none. Please finish your shopping and making of your gifts as you see fit; you do not need to provide for any more cabins then you want to. :thumbsup2

:( Booked on board last year, but credited with a TA. I sure hope it comes today!

Yeah - having a travel agent on your reservation in any capacity means that THEY will receive your docs and send them to you. I would suggest calling them and asking if they've gotten your docs yet - they will be able to tell you. Some agencies (including ones I've worked at) would actually HOLD the docs until 2 weeks prior and then send them out! For that reason I would call and ask if they have them, and if they do, ask them to send them immediately. Hopefully they'll have them and send them out for you :) Good luck!

I need to start packing + figure out what my girls are going to wear for formal night. I can't wait to be relaxing on the Cruise... after a couple weeks of packing and running around like a chicken with her head cut off, I'm gonna need it!!

See you all in a few weeks!

:woohoo:

Just ordered DD's dress for formal night! Now we just need to worry about me.

I hope we get our cruise docs soon! My sister doesn't have her's yet either.

Thanks for the clarification on the late comers. I can't wait to get this vacation started!!!
