I hope what I wrote last night made some sort of sense. I was extremely tired and annoyed.
The first half of today isnt much better ( Im writing this part at 3:30)
I was annoyed last night when we got back to the room and there was no message from anyone concerning another room or even an apology.
As I said last night we decided to skip any wake up call and let nature take over. We woke up around 8:15 and the breakfast we ordered last night arrived a few minutes later. Everyone ate and I fell back into bed and passed out. As I slept I heard Mrs.Mike say she was taking the kids to the pool. When I finally woke up it was 11am. WOW was I beat to sleep that long! I looked to see if there was any messages about a new room but no. We all got dresses and by 12:30 I decided to call the front desk.
I cant believe that of all the rooms in the Poly there isnt one room onthe first floor available. Someone had to be checking in or out somewhere. No way that no one was not doing either.
Even a second floor somewhere closer. There is no way I could believe that is the case.
I hate calling actually because I know I will get someone I havent spoken to and have to start all over again. And thats what happened. He asked what was wrong with the first room and I gave the shortened story and was told to hold on and he would look into a room change. Look into? Hasnt it already been looked into since I spoke to the housekeeping manager? He came back and told me I would be speaking to eddie now and hed help me.
Eddie asked what happened and again I had to tell my story. He said he was looking at a room change now and if I could hold on he would see what he could to. He said he had to move some things around but he was going to get me a somoa room with a volcano pool view.
I get put on hold and when he gets back he says he is making up my room keys now and everything looks good.
** Can anyone see this coming?**
Eddied then tells me, Okay, Mr.Mike I have you all set up in the Somoa building on the first floor, room 1601"
1601??!!!!! That is the room we were moved from. The one with the blood and pieces of glass and hole in the wall and everything else.
He sounded shocked. He said he no idea we were in that room. I feel my anger level rising again. If he had no idea we were in that room which I believe then was he handing me a line in all the moves he had to make to get us there?. We were in that room until after 6:30 last night. No one stayed there last night after us and no one checked into it. Even if they were going to give it to someone today then all that had to be done was switch them to Rapa Nui where we where. They are both Garden View rooms.
Anyway he put me on hold again and came back and said the room was listed as not cleaned yet and what I go back there if they took care of all the problems. Mrs.Mike said okay and he said he was going to call the Housekeeping manager and make sure everything would be taken care of. He told me to go out and enjoy ourselves and he would leave a message when the room was ready.
We took a few steps to the TTA and went into the MK. Unfortunately it was now close to 1:30 - 2pm and while main st was sort of empty, Fantasyland was packed!!! Fps were all for after 5 when we should be at dinner.
SO we just walked around and went back to Main St and had hot dogs at Caseys. They were very good.
Took the monorail back to the TTA and sent the family to the arcade. I went up to the room to check about the new room and there was no message left for us. I caught up to the family who went to the arcade but it was closed due to a private function. We are not having good luck here.
They walk to the beach and I go into the Lobby and ask for eddie. I explain everything again to another person and they bring up my name and hand me the room keys. I was confused and said Im waiting for Eddie to call me. He says the room is ready and Im all set.
I tell him I want to inspect the room before I accept it and he says fine. I take the keys and walk the 30 seconds to the room and check it out. The glass and the blood are gone. A new safety Latch has been installed. The sticky spot on the carpet is still there as it the hole in the wall. ( I didnt expect that to be fixed).
Well okay we decide to stay and I walk back to the Lobby to tell him we will take the room. Hes not there and I tell a lady there a very quick story and that we are taking the room. I ask if she can send bell services to the old room to get our bags and she says You can walk over there to the front doors and tell them. The front doors is where the bell services station is. I walk away shaking my head wondering where they got this staff from.
I asked the man at bell services for help I tell him im moving from one room to 1601. He says 1601? Ohh thats a good room! Mrs.Mike and I look at each other and arent sure if we should laugh or scream.
Another man comes over and takes us to Rapa Nui and brings our bags from there to somoa.
After he leaves and we unpack I decide to take a shower and notice there is no soap. With a heavy sigh I accept the fact that they have beaten me into submission and I give up. So here I am sitting back in Somoa #1601 which we have dubbed The Redrum room
Im still annoyed. If only because we didnt get any apologies, No messages to either room regarding what has happened, I get the runaround regarding managers sent to the room yesterday, I get cast members moving a lot of people around to send me back to the same room before it has even been cleaned.
I am truly shocked at the amount of unprofessional people Ive encountered in a 24 hour period.
We are now leaving for dinner at Chef Mickeys and will be watching WISHES after that. Hopefully our luck will turn. I will make a wish while seeing WISHES.
Okay we are back. Chef Mickeys was very crowded but also a lot of fun.
As soon as we stepped off the monorail that wonderfully sweet contemporary 4th floor concourse smell swooped over us. MMM I love that smell and will never forget it.
We had a good waiter. Bob kept bringing the sodas just as I finished the one I had. AT one point he brought 2 at a time.
Chef Mickey was walking around for the celebration song where you swing the napkins whenhe walked into and knocked over a small boy. For some reason everyone laughed and mickey picked him up and hugged him.
Another funny thing happened with the waiter. Goofy came into the room and did about 4 high jumps in a row making a huge thump each time he landed. About 5 waiters were lined in a row and our waiter watched goofy then raised one eyebrow and spoke out of the side of his mouth to another waiter. I couldnt hear the words but you know from his expression it was something like friggen show off Mrs Mike and I laughed for quite a while about that one.
The food was okay. I think we were spoiled by the Camp May clambake. But I think you go to Chef Mickeys more for the party atmosphere and the characters than the food.
We heah down to the Food and Fun center. My children love the Contemporary aracde and frankly so do I. AS we walked in a man gave us about 70 tickets. Thanked him and then went through 15-20 dollars within 20 minutes. Wound up with about 360 tickets. With a quick glance I saw we could probably get about 2 pencils and a sticker. We will have to keep working at those games.
When we got to the monorail station the attendant asked if w would liek to ride up front. Since we are 5 I stayed behind and let the rest of them go. They all said how fun it was, that it felt like a roller coaster and you feel like you are going really fast.
At the Poly we walked down to the Lobby and out the back doors as the fireworks started. We settled down on the beach with many other people and enjoyed the show. The WISHES show was great... a lot of explosions and different scenes than Fantasy in the Sky had. It was really nice.
Back in the room by 8pm and now we want to get to bed early.
Tomorrow we want to get back ontrack, We have an 8:05am for the Crystal Palce and plan to hit Mickeys PhilharMagic and many other rides before the crowds come. Then Tomorrow night we are going to Hoop Dee Doo, our first time there.
Thanks everyone for all your good wishes. And since I type this before I go online I forget who asked but...about Tower of Terror... my mom said I must be getting revenge on her for something. The picture taken on the ride showed her face buries in my arm. But to be honest I never felt her do it because I was screaming too much.
