MR January 29 2012- Who's in?

Us northerners don't really care what the temp is, we grab the sun where ever we can because we didn't have any this summer...we are looking forward to this cruise, I think we are going to fly in the day before the cruise and stay at the doubletree inn... anyone else staying there???
We are staying at the Doubletree too. Was going to be the Courtyard but our TA changed so we'd have the private shuttle. Though if we have an early check in time we may just get a cab.

I thought it was time to check back in and it seems like the chatting has picked up a bit!

We did take advantage of the kids sail free as well, lost our OBB discount but not really since we were able to move it to a Feb 2013 sailing on the Fantasy. We did have to change our room and are now on deck 1, not sure about that but we'll give it a try.

Trying to decide what excursions to do. I'm having a hard time choosing between Las Calentas or Paradise Beach Adventure in PV. Any thoughts? In Cabo I think we'll do whale watching and maybe another resort excursion. Would love to do zip lining again but the girls aren't old enough.

Anybody interested in doing a FE? My girls loved coming back to the room and checking for mail!

We were on the Panama Canal cruise in January. In Puerto Vallarta we did the zip line and our DD and family went to Las Calesta. The zip lining was great, we had a really good time and we would recommend it. We are going to book Las Calesta this time around as our DD has been there a few times and she said it is beautiful. In Cabo we had booked the pirate adventure but due to problems with the boat we never got out of the harbour. We had fun for the short time we were on the boat and I am sure it was a one of problem.

Can hardly wait to book Palo, excursions etc:cheer2:

My DH and I did the zip lining when we were in PV 2 years ago. It was amazing. That's why I'm disappointed the girls are too young.

I'm thinking about scheduling the zip-line for my DH and DS (16) to do while the rest of us do Crowne Paradise- basically lounge and eat until time to go back.

A few days ago someone asked about doing FE's. Is anyone interested?

As a family we decided to skip FE's this time and instead take more gifts/candy for our favorite cast members. Last time I felt like even though it was a lot of fun we should have brought more for the cast members... the staff in the kids clubs, the janitorial staff we met etc. So, we won't participate this time, but if you'd like to organize one it would be fun for all involved.

That is a great idea. We did FE's on our last cruise and really enjoyed it. I was debating whether or not to get involved but I will probably have a hard enough time getting magnetics made for this cruise, so our family won't be participating.

Since there are not very many of us posting here the FE will probably not happen. I'll wait to see what happens in the next couple of months.

FE's if there are other families to participate.

Our kids would love to do FE's again. We've done it 2 times in the past.

Just finished booking excursions and Palo. LasCaletas in PV, whale watching on day 2 in Cabo, Palo brunch on my birthday and dinner on Friday. I am getting very excited. :woohoo:

alaskanabbott, I just finished reading your trip report from DW and GKTW. Wow! You have a very special family! I have a dear friend who was just at GKTW @ 6 weeks ago, her daughter has cancer and this trip was her final wish. She has not had time to even process what happened on the trip, let alone show us pictures. Seeing your pictures made me so happy... a little window into what her family of 7 was able to do and see. Thank you for sharing :)
Your youngest daughter and mine are @ the same age (7). Last year Dannan spent most of her time in the Club but I don't know where she'll feel at home this time. The Lab is filled with boys playing wii etc. and I think she might still enjoy the dress-up and crafts in the Club.

We are all booked and checked in, love living in our time zone, not having to stay awake past midnight to book.

Palo dinner, brunch and tea. Doing Las Calesta in PV and San Jose tour in Cabo. Now we can get excited:banana::banana::banana:

Booked our excursions as well. Las Caletas in PV, beach resort in Cabo day 1 and Whale watching in Cabo day 2.

Looks like a few of us will be on the PV excursion together. :cool1:

I also have a daughter who will have just turned 8 before we leave.

HI! WOW, I hope you like the TR:goodvibes It was a fantastic memory and it started us onthe road to being Disney fanatics. James is doing very well, he is in a remission and we are really hoping everything stays that way for our cruise. We tried doing it last year (same time same place) but in the end James' health was too poor for us to consider leaving shore, so we did WDW again:) My youngest daughter Mackenzie is VERY girly, and very social. She will try and do anything, especially if there is dress-up or princesses involved. Maybe they can write to each other a few times before the cruise?

We are first timers to DCL .. we took advantage of the kids for free for a BIG xmas reveal ... very interested in doing FE to get the full experience of it if anyone is still interested .. can't wait we are super super excitedpirate: have two boys 9 and 6:sail:

First timers on DCL as well. The kids sail free was too good of an offer to pass up. We have a 3 family group coming with us 2 grandmas, 6 parents, 7 kids.

Planning the christmas surprise for the kids. So hard not to talk about it with them.

Seems like there are a few families now that are interested in doing the FE. Even if there aren't that many of us I think it would still be fun for the kids. I can try to organize it. I think all we need to do is compile a list with the following:

Stateroom no.
Name
Gender
Age

I have 5 kids- I'm not sure how FE's work, is there a link to the basics?

I can't post inks yet .... but basically if you google fish extender basics several dis board forums come up that are really helpful..

Hope you find it helpful .. it's sorta like a secret friend that trades treats throughout the trip for lil extra surprises for the kids:_)
