Amazing story. I've never heard this before. DH and I have been known to break into a chorus of "A horse is a horse, of course, of course . . ."

I used to watch that show with my great great Grandmother. The woman was straight off the boat from Italy, didn't speak or understand a word of English, was scarier than any stranger you'd meet in a dark alley, but she loved her Mister Ed.

A zebra. Huh.

I'm really having a tough time wrapping my brain around that one. Snopes wouldn't be kidding us a bit, would they?

I found this:

A zebra was briefly used in several scenes in the series when Ed was unable to some difficult stunts, but there's no truth to the myth that a zebra was used the whole time. Ed was definitely a horse!

While I'm not trying to discredit this, did anybody else click on the button to show what a zebra looks like when filmed in black and white? They just showed the same black and white picture of Mr. Ed! If you are going to do this, at least show a zebra filmed in color and then show that same zebra in B&W. That, to me, makes this a little less believable.

I couldn't figure it out cause they don't look a like! The Zebra's ears were too close together and didn't have the same mane...

I bought it hook line and sinker and sent it to my hubby who told me to click on the more information. Grr on snopes for false positives. LOL!
