Have you guys picked dates for your Disnelyand trip yet? You'll be able to get lots of advice here. DHB is there now, geffric just got back, and I'm heading out in about 4 weeks. Anybody want to fly to Phoenix and go with me?? Not sure if little sister can come, she just got a new job and has to work some weekends. Don't know why but I'm a little nervous about the drive out there alone BUT not at all for the drive back??? Go figure?? I think if I do end up driving alone, I'll just leave earlier than originally planned for my daylight drivnig...even though it will be HOT.

Hmmm...found the things I meant to reply to earlier...

Cmom the Columbus Day crowds that the one above claims were out of control (due to the fact she has little brain cells left) weren't bad IMO. I was more there for the F&W Fest though anyhow and didn't have the kiddies.

Now, I would really really really love some maple walnut or maple pecan fudge from Frontierland or Germany....dag gone it!!!!

cheeringmom Gotta go with Lew on this one! I think the crowds were fine, but yes indeed, I was without kids so that's probably made a difference. I will say, though, that it was busier than it used to be in October. Personally, I LOVE going in October....little cooler, F&W festival, less crowds than summer.....and we'll be there again this year....gotta take the kiddos to MNSSHP, ya know!

Now Lew....wish I'd seen that little craving BEFORE I left! Couldn't log on while we were there as FIL's wireless internet was down. Oh well. The *good news* is we're there nearly every weekend, so if you put in an order for what you want/need, I'll be happy to pick some up for you next time and get it on it's way! Make sure you're specific, though....my mommy brain is very lax lately....somedays I'm surprised I remember to breathe You'll have to tell us if "mommy brain" gets worse with 3!!!

Thanks for the advice about Columbus Day. i kinda figured that. Thinking about buying the cheap blackout passes. I hate Florida in the summer and hate crowds so I really won't mind the blackout dates. Wouldn't go during those times any how. But need to find out the dates for NEXT year so I can plan accordingly. hmmm something to research....

cmom FYI...they've lifted the summer blackout dates early the last 2 years. This year was supposed to be blacked out until August 18, but they lifted it on July 22...one month early Don't think they've ever done if for Easter/Christmas blackout times, though. We had those for several years and they worked out great. Just make sure to take into account the parking issue....if you drive to the parks, you'll have to pay with the seasonal, but it's free with the annual....so add up how many days you might drive....then it may make sense to get one of you an annual instead! We had to upgrade to the annuals when we started coming at the holidays. And now that it's an every weekend thing, we got them for us and Abbie. But when we go next weekend and have to buy his first one, Walt will probably be getting a seasonal since the restrictions are lifted, and we're not sure yet if we'll go during the Christmas blackout....

And remember, they're both cheaper at SOG!! That's always our first stop when we need tickets

Nope. No dates yet. It will probably be very short-notice planning wise. See, my in-laws are going to Hawaii for 2 weeks, and then my MIL has promised to help her sister redecorate (she's moving to Charlotte) and FIL has no vacation time left.....and they're the ones who will do the kid-sitting for us! ALSO, and more importantly, DH has to get more into his job and get a better feel for when he can take vacation.....his new job has a bit of traveling involved, so it's kinda hard to plan in advance. When the kids start school next week, I have research and preliminary planning on my "to-do" list Like, find out when the cheap season is, if there are any discounts I should look for, etc.....

I'd take you up on that offer in a skinny minute if I had someone to care for the kids! Good luck on your drive....I'm sure it will be smooth-sailing and easy-going!

I'm really sorry Oddball...I'm the one who asked MD if he'd heard from you and Caroline lately. I had no idea that he and OF were gonna bring up such a sensitive topic, rub salt in the wound, so to speak...we're past that now and hopefully they'll be big enough to just let it be. Please know we've missed you and you are welcome here anytime. So how are you and Caroline? When does school start? I've heard you've done well with the Waspadi(sp?) challenge thingie and want to hear all about it!

NO NO NO!!! its perfectly fine, we LOVE that you care about hearing about us, lol!! its fine!!!! its their fault, and if they wanna be that way, whatever, its all them. i guess trying to be immature and just droping the issue isnt working for them. i finally dropped the deal and now others are bringing it up again. oh well, im letting it go. i cant change it so why worry about it, lol. woo its fun being missed, lol, thank you!! caroline and i miss you too!! you can email us whenever you want, if you want to PM me and ill give you our addresses. she has said many times that she would like to talk to you!! and i do too!! agh school starts the fifteenth. why cant it be like the old days when kids went back in september?!?!?! i hate going back in august!! but then again its better than two years ago...we went back the third!!! i dropped out of WPASADI, lol. but it was SO fun while i was doing it!! i left because im not online as much anymore and i didnt wanna let my team down by not being around. but i really liked our last challenge, it was great!! i wish my closing ceremony would happen. hope you and your family are doing well and talk to you soon i hope!!

...and yep, not used to being up so late, my sinus pill knocked me out before dinner last night I woke at midnight and couldn't get back to sleep but I'm all better now and looking forward to the weekend...WOO HOO!

I can relate to the sick thing. We all came home with a bad cold!
Must've been going from the 100º heat to the 70º hotel room constantly....well, after they got the a/c fixed, anyway.

Kadaten, thanks for the info on the passes etc. Since we live 7 hrs away, I plan on doing the seasonal. I hate going when it is hot and crowded. But will be a little more difficult with allt he kids in school now and with different schedules.

A week thus far. I have 2 diff antibiotics and he needs to take til gone. Probably another 1/2 week. He hates taking meds too. Used to be really good about it, now it's a hassle.

I hear there's a pretty good asian cocktail place in your area. They were catching the palmetto bugs when I was in line for my DL when I moved to FL. One flew in this lady's hair and she swatted it and started screaming, one lil dude walked up...picked the fella up and stuck him in his pocket. NO JOKE! He said "this delicacy." Ummmm, okkkkkeeeeeeeeee buddy! I wanted to ask for his number in case I had them in the apartment.

Reminds me of when we lived in MS. we were on our way to church and this dead squirrel was in the middle of this busy intersection and some homeless dude picked it up and put it into a plastic bag. ummm road kill! ugh. But the bug thing grosses me out more. That little guy should go on Fear Factor ugh
