Mr. and Mrs. Weak Sauce Go the Distance (a completed Disneymoon TR!)

I guess he wanted to make ABSOLUTELY SURE he was going to be the VERY FIRST person off of that bus!!!! :lmao:

Great update! But I got hot just thinking about walking into the park at 1 pm in the middle of June. :scared: (I know that's supposed to be a "scared" smilie, but it is representative of me sweating :rotfl:).

Haha, no doubt that's what he was thinking!

We just went to WDW two weeks ago, which was June, and that was miserable! The Disneymoon in May wasn't that much better though. I thought it would've been a BIG difference, but it was also super hot! I'd get that gross "glisten-y" face so quickly because I just couldn't take the heat!

Yay for clean buses!!! :thumbsup2
And empty ones are fun. Even if you are heading to the park at 1pm :)

I spy a button that says "My magical triumph" and my excitement level just went THROUGH THE ROOF :yay:

The Disney buses are just SO different than the NYC buses! Haha.

Ooo, what magical triumph do you want to celebrate?

I have still been following along even though I haven't commented for a while. I think you did a great job on your manicure also. Kudos on saving money!

I'm glad you're still following along even if you don't have the time to comment.

Thanks! I do my nails rather often now. Nothing fancy, of course, just a simple color. What's great is that I bought all my polish on sale too so nothing was more than $3. I don't understand how people can afford the $8-$9 bottles of the expensive brands and then have a ton of colors! I hope to one day do the most simple Disney nails for a trip!

Been following along and loving your updates! You guys are so cute together, you seem like a very sweet couple. I'm excited to hear more!

I felt like I was right there at Sunshine Seasons. Nice to have the video clips. :thumbsup2

How many trips are you getting out of your AP? I think my record is five. Maybe six. It was the year I went in October, November, and December. :faint: I don't think there will be another year like that.

That's awesome you got that huge stack of celebration buttons. :thumbsup2

Just PMed you my guesses for your pictures!

I love your videos. I feel like I'm right there with you guys!

Silly Howard forgetting all those things in the room! I've gotten in the habit of asking DH anytime we leave if he has everything since he's forgotten a few things before also. Disney time is too precious to waste on running back to the room!

It's so easy to forget stuff in the room! We have done it so many times, that I have started collecting up all the stuff we will need before bed. That way it is all in one spot in the morning!

Thanks! So happy that you've been following and hopefully enjoying!

Thanks! Sometimes I find that the video clips bring me back to the moment more than the pictures do. I tell myself to talk more in them, but when I'm actually recording, I end up not doing it because of all the people around us!

We only got 3 trips out of our APs, but that 3rd trip was actually an extra. From our math, all we needed was our April '12 trip with my parents where we went to 4 parks for the entire day and then our Disneymoon in May '12 where we had about 8 days in the parks. That alone made it cheaper to get APs instead of using our regular 10-day no expiration tickets OR getting park hoppers for our Disneymoon. Then we randomly decided to go in December '12, so we got a bunch of extra days extra, so we were happy about that! Right now we're back to using our no expiration tickets. It's the only thing that makes sense for me because of my health issues. I don't have pressure to go to a park just because we have a ticket for it. If I can't go because I'm feeling sick, it's okay. No ticket wasted!

I hope to one day get APs again! That'd be so much fun. It's difficult because of our jobs though and then it'd probably have to be BEFORE we have kids!

That's awesome you got that huge stack of celebration buttons. :thumbsup2

Just PMed you my guesses for your pictures!

Yeah, it was so fun to get all the options!

Got your PM! I'll post the answers and the new scores at the end of the week :)

Great update! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I love your videos. I feel like I'm right there with you guys!

Silly Howard forgetting all those things in the room! I've gotten in the habit of asking DH anytime we leave if he has everything since he's forgotten a few things before also. Disney time is too precious to waste on running back to the room!

Thanks! I think it's funny when I hear my own voice on camera though!

For some reason, our Disneymoon was so much more disorganized than previous trips! We also had all the space to ourselves, so that's why we ended up putting everything everywhere! The memory card mishap from the day before was because it was still in the laptop. Now we have to make sure we have the battery AND memory card!

It's so easy to forget stuff in the room! We have done it so many times, that I have started collecting up all the stuff we will need before bed. That way it is all in one spot in the morning!

That would make it so much easier when you're all set from the night before! The only thing we have to really remember is all the stuff that we have to charge overnight like our phones and camera/video camera batteries. I should bring some Post-its to stick on the room door on the way out!

A Smokey World Showcase

It might sound odd, but we really did go to Epcot JUST to eat at Sunshine Seasons! We just loved those meals that much, haha. We knew we wanted to head over to DHS so we could enjoy some of the fun from Star Wars Weekends. We decided to hop over using the boats, which is something we've never done before because we're not park hopper people. Annual passes really did open up an entire new world for us!

We began walking and saw that there was a lot of smoke in the sky, and it was DARK smoke too! Oh no! We found out later on that it was actually a fire on one of the highways and not on Disney property. But from our view, it really looked like the fire was coming from Mexico or something. During the moment though, we were nervous that it was something major, but not many others even seemed to even be noticing it until they saw us taking pictures.

We ended up seeing that there were a group of people working on the Brave sand creation. This was LONG before we saw the movie since we only watched it like, 2 months ago on DVD, haha, so I didn't know who all those characters were until now!

Regardless of how you feel about Brave, you have to admit that these sand sculptures are AMAZING. I mean, it's in the heat, but they can still control the sand. That amazes me because I can barely build a simple sand castle with buckets! These people have such talent.

Speaking of Brave though, I LOVED the movie. I don't quite know why. I mean, in comparison to the other more recent movies, Tangled is of course the best, haha. I think it's funny that it's so mystical with what happens to the mom. Of course, the three bears are adorable! There's still something so fun about Merida though. I love her accent (I recognized it as an actress from an episode of Alias immediately!), and the fact that she's so ... I can't even think of the word in English because for once, I only have the Chinese word in mind. She's like, a little bit un-lady-like with her crazy hair! I actually bought a Merida mug with a Disney gift card I got from a student, so clearly I'm a fan.

Anyway, these guys might not have enjoyed Brave as much as I have to go buy a Merida mug, but they've got skill! We were particularly fasincated because we were watching something on sand sculpting on TV.

VIDEO: Brave Sand Sculpture

We walked towards Canada and just HAD to take a break in the gift shop because it was so hot. Both Howard and I have cousins in Canada, so we took a bunch of pictures of all the stuff.

Such cute animals!

These were some of my favorites.

Haha, those teeth!

Since we actually had some time, I looked around for the hidden Mickey I had seen in pictures.

I asked Howard if he could find it when I pointed out the general area. There it is on the fish!

I thought this was cute with the "Bear Naked" words, but the bear could totally be cuter. I'm all about super cute stuff on kid clothes cuz that's the age that they can pull off wearing EVERYTHING cute!

This stationery had such cute sayings. My favorite was the beaver notebook that says "Dam important." I'd never want to have a notebook that said that though. Can you imagine what my students would think if I used it at work?

Books for your little Canadians, haha.

They did have an animal head up there as you can see in this shot, but thankfully, I don't THINK there was anything huge from what I remember. I was hesitant because I wasn't sure if there'd be a big moose head. Those things SCARE me. I mean, last week we went to Texas Roadhouse, and I was TERRIFIED of walking in there because I know of the animal heads in there. I had to walk to the bathroom with my mom with my head down.

I saw this and immediately thought of my brother Matt! He used to watch all this Big Foot stuff on TV over and over again, so of course, the sasquatch sweat soap would've been a fun gag gift for him. Too bad it cost way too much for something that wouldn't really be used!

VIDEO: Smoke over World Showcase

Back out into the heat, we looked at that smoke again. Really crazy.

It's such a huge difference comparing that to the bright blue sky and the fluffy clouds.

We couldn't make it all the way to the International Gateway without taking another break in the tea shop in the UK. I realize now that I said Twinnings in the video when the tea is really called Twinings. Whoops! This is also another example of some Disney stuff I mention when I teach; I also mention this cottage when I start our fictional unit on Shakespeare. Anyway, in the shop, I was standing right underneath an AC vent or something here. Can you tell that it was hot based on the fact that I was just so glisten-y?! Haha, sweaty is more the word.

I love the atmosphere of the UK. It's probably the closest I'll ever get to actually being there. It just seems so peaceful!

We heard a band playing, so we stopped to listen even though it wasn't British Invasion playing the Beatles songs anymore.

VIDEO: British Revolution Singing "Message in a Bottle"

Do they still use this in Agent P's World Showcase Adventure? I haven't tried the new adventures yet, but I miss Kim Possible. The funny thing is that I didn't actually like Kim Possible the cartoon! I just liked Christy Carlson Romano, haha. I've never watched an episode of Phineas and Ferb, so I don't know those characters at all.

We finally made it to the International Gateway! We popped into the souvenir shop that was there for more AC. Seriously, it was THAT bad. Looking all the way to the right behind the counter, you see pin starter sets. I just have to say that it really does help going to the Disney outlets when in Florida because during this past trip just a few weeks ago, I got buy one get one free pin starter sets! That meant I got each one for $9.50! Yay! That meant each pin was just a little over $1. It was a perfect time to get pins to trade. I bought 6 sets although I called my cousin Karen when I was there and she wanted 1 set so I really only have 5. If I actually had the money for it, I totally would have purchased the max, which was like, 24 or something, haha.

I saw that they had a pressed penny machine there. I don't get them anymore, but I still look to see what they have. I was excited to see that they actually had Mulan!

The only thing I don't like about it is that they always show Mulan getting ready to see the matchmaker! They should show her with her hair down after it's been cut. Underneath you can also see the China penny. When I did collect them, I really wanted a China one but couldn't find a machine in the pavilion. Makes sense now why I couldn't find it!

We were so close to the boat launch. Would we have to wait long for a boat to take us to DHS?

Don't forget that there are 5 rounds to get Weak Sauce Points! Just scroll up a little!

The Disney buses are just SO different than the NYC buses! Haha.

Ooo, what magical triumph do you want to celebrate?

I'm kinda a germaphobe, but even though thousands of people ride and touch both WDW buses and NYC buses, I am so much more relaxed about riding a WDW bus. For some reason it doesn't bother me (until later...) :rotfl:

I'm going down in January to run my first marathon/Goofy Race and a Half Challenge. I intend on a very magical triumph :cheer2:

HOLY SMOKES! That's insane! I wonder what happened! Ahhh, the friendship boats are my favorite! Love.

Oh, I completely understand the germaphobe stuff! When I used to get home from a commute, I'd feel as if I had to get my clothes off right away because they were just crawling with germs from all around NYC!

Yay for your future magical triumph!

HOLY SMOKES! That's insane! I wonder what happened! Ahhh, the friendship boats are my favorite! Love.

Right? The smoke was so dark! So strange to see that in real life as opposed to like, just flickering lights for the burning of the library of Alexandria.

Riding the boats was such a new experience for us! Seems so peaceful when you need some down time. I am curious to know how long it would take to walk from one park to the other though.

I totally thought you guys just went to Epcot to eat your favorite meals! It doesn't seem unreasonable to me!

I'm always impressed by sand sculptures! I always worry that the weather is going to ruin it for them!

Seems like a REALLY hot day at Epcot! Hopefully you didn't have to wait too long for the boats!

Being alone on our Disneymoon and having the APs allowed us to have SUCH a different trip than any other trip we've had in the past with my family and any other trip we might have in the future. It was so freeing!

Yeah! That's what I was thinking with the heat! I was wondering if the sun would dry it all out and make it crumble.

World Showcase is just one of the last places I want to be when it's so hot out!

Great update! I'm glad you took some time on your honeymoon to relax and sleep in!

I absolutely love Sunshine Seasons! The Mongolian beef and noodles are my favorites.

I never noticed the bananas on the trees at Adventureland. I really got to look up next time I go.

I haven't watched the most recent POTC either.

Biology and Marine Biology were my favorites.

I've watched LOST! That CM is totally a younger version of Richard.

We are cheap when it comes to movies too. We waited for Brave on DVD but Wreck-It Ralph we saw at the budget cinema and that was $4.

I can't stand the heat, I'd rather be cold (but not freezing).

So sad you can't have a dole whip anymore. :( Pineapple is my favorite fruit, I'd be very sad to give it up too. Maybe one day you can get a Dole Whip souvenir, of course it's not as good as the real thing but it's the "spirit" of it.

How sweet of your hubby to do the laundry and let you sleep.

Cursing and bleeps bother me too. What bothers me more is lately I've let myself slip words and I feel so wrong afterwards. I'm working to put a complete stop to it.

Your meal at Saana looked yummy. It's too bad they took Shrimp with green curry sauce off the menu. I hope they release the recipe, I'd love to try to make that even though I never had the real thing. Yay for Rico!

Grr, I guess the DIS stops working at 2am because when I can't sleep and want to DIS, that's when it doesn't work.

Sometimes I'm a little forgetful, so I make a mental checklist when I'm sure I don't want to leave anything behind. But I'm sure Howard only forgot stuff in room because he was on vacation.

I think I know a few of those light fixtures but I missed the cutoff by 2 days.

The Brave sand sculpture is really neat. I loved the movie too although it made me cry the first time I watched it.

I absolutely love Sunshine Seasons! The Mongolian beef and noodles are my favorites.

It definitely made it unlike any other trip we've been in where we set our alarms and MUST get up!

I haven't tried anything else other than what the two of us always order. I know there are so many other delicious options though!

I am EXACTLY the same way :rotfl:

I taught Howard what "home clothes" are too, haha. When we were dating and he'd come over my house, he had to bring "home clothes" because if he sat in the car or on the bus, they were considered dirty! Haha.

I never noticed the bananas on the trees at Adventureland. I really got to look up next time I go.

So insane how there are so many details everywhere!

I haven't watched the most recent POTC either.

I'm so surprised they made THAT many movies!

Biology and Marine Biology were my favorites.

I never had marine biology as an option. It's interesting hearing that a few people did love it the most!

I've watched LOST! That CM is totally a younger version of Richard.

RIGHT? It was so uncanny!

We are cheap when it comes to movies too. We waited for Brave on DVD but Wreck-It Ralph we saw at the budget cinema and that was $4.

I don't see paying so much for a movie when it'll probably end up being something we want to own on DVD anyway!

I can't stand the heat, I'd rather be cold (but not freezing).

Strangely, as I get older, I think I'm losing my tolerance for the cold. I did appreciate this apt during this past winter though as we don't have to pay for heat and it was automatically on! It was strange being warm! At my parents' house, they didn't turn it on for long because of how high the gas bill woul get. We'd be in layers and I'd sit at the computer with a blanket on me. At our apt, I was in t-shirts!

So sad you can't have a dole whip anymore. :( Pineapple is my favorite fruit, I'd be very sad to give it up too. Maybe one day you can get a Dole Whip souvenir, of course it's not as good as the real thing but it's the "spirit" of it.

Yea, that's what I was thinking! I was looking at Dole Whip iPhone covers, haha.

How sweet of your hubby to do the laundry and let you sleep.

He totally scored brownie points!

Cursing and bleeps bother me too. What bothers me more is lately I've let myself slip words and I feel so wrong afterwards. I'm working to put a complete stop to it.

Good for you trying to stop! I just think that even if someone doesn't personally find anything wrong with cursing, I think it's important to be mindful of others and the impression that is made on them. I told my kids that if they curse or say bad words, sometimes someone who hears it might automatically judge them a certain way or they might not sound as intelligent as they could. That was when they asked what was the big deal since curses are just words and any common non-curse word could have been a curse word too.

Your meal at Saana looked yummy. It's too bad they took Shrimp with green curry sauce off the menu. I hope they release the recipe, I'd love to try to make that even though I never had the real thing. Yay for Rico!

We'll definitely try the other shrimp dish, but I know it won't be the same. Sad.

Grr, I guess the DIS stops working at 2am because when I can't sleep and want to DIS, that's when it doesn't work.

It has done that to me before too! The times when I actually have time and want to read, it'll be down for maintenance, haha.

Sometimes I'm a little forgetful, so I make a mental checklist when I'm sure I don't want to leave anything behind. But I'm sure Howard only forgot stuff in room because he was on vacation.

Oh, definitely. The vacation room was different because we weren't used to putting things in the same spot like we do in our apt now.

I think I know a few of those light fixtures but I missed the cutoff by 2 days.

I totally didn't post the new points list yet!

The Brave sand sculpture is really neat. I loved the movie too although it made me cry the first time I watched it.

I really didn't expect to like the movie so much, but I did! That's why I have my Merida mug!

Exploration with One Eye Closed

It seems to be our norm to always go from The Land to The Seas because of its proximity. There usually isn't a line for Nemo, and even if there is, the air conditioning is extremely inviting.

The queue is super long with all the weaving in and out, but it kind of seems as if you need that length for your eyes to adjust to the darkness. For Howard, it takes even longer for some reason!

It would be pretty cool though to somehow utilize Disney in your daily exercise program though. Imagine walking through the queue over and over again and getting to hop on a ride as a reward after some cardio?

Don't be deceived by my smile here. Pretty soon, I will have to close one of my eyes or squint! I am terrified of some undersea creatures. More specifically, I am so frightened by humongous whales, sharks, and octopi. Once we get to the part where you can actually see into the tanks, my heart starts racing!

I remember my fear when I first went on this ride and saw all the fake coral and such.

Despite how many times I ride this, I still love this scene and how it looks like there are SO many jellyfish floating around the clammobiles.

Whoa~

BEWARE! It's now time to squint or close an eye! Too many times have I seen a shark swim by or hide behind a projected character to suddenly appear in my sights!

Despite my dislike of this part of the ride, a trip doesn't seem entirely complete without experiencing this.

I wonder how long the dialogue goes for Peach because it seems as if she has a lot to say!

I did take video of the ride, but since it was just with my digital camera, it wasn't always the clearest when it was dark. That's one of the reasons why I was really excited to get a video camera! You can hear in the video that I mention when it's time for me to close my eyes, haha. The ride slowed down at the end, so I like the slow opening of the clammobile door because it's related to ride vehicles! When I watched this video, I noticed that Mr. Ray gives a goodbye speech at the end of the ride. I never noticed that before because I'm so enamored by the ride vehicles.

VIDEO: Hanging with Nemo

I can't choose just one, so here are a plethora of ride vehicle photos taken by both Howard and me.

We popped by to see the manatees! In the past, we've watched them from above, but this time we watched from below. I was a little hesitant because aquarium tanks really freak me out, haha.

From here, we could see that they went through that little "door" to go out of view, so we didn't stay there too long. As you can see in the below video, it was enough "seas" for me! Oh, and the manatee was not named Barbara. Haha, that's a song from Veggie Tales.

VIDEO: Barbara Manatee! You are the one for me!

We were going to head out, but we saw that there was a diver actually getting ready to go in the tube! In the past, I didn't quite know what it was, so it was fun to be able to watch the ENTIRE demonstration.

VIDEO: Empty Diver Tube

It's pretty crazy how quickly the tube fills with water, but it's even more amazing how quickly it drains!

The CM had a kid go up as a volunteer to use hand signals so that the diver would know when to go up. The kid also asked using hand signals whether or not the diver had seen a sea turtle.

The diver explained how the plastic bags are easily mistaken as jellyfish by turtles. It was a good amount of information packed into a short and entertaining segment.

I'd definitely want my kids to watch something like this in the future so that they can have these fun learning experiences in Disney. You can too if you want to because I recorded the whole thing.
