Mr. and Mrs. Weak Sauce Go the Distance (a completed Disneymoon TR!)

DHS is my favorite nighttime park. I just adore all the neon lights of Sunset & Hollywood Blvd!

What a neat experience sitting in the back row of the GMR!

Just wanted to check-in and say I'm still enjoying all of your updates! We got back yesterday from a quick 2 night trip for our anniversary. We went to Hollywood Studios (so weird to refer to it that way) yesterday since my husband's favorite thing in the world is to draw the characters. We ended up doing it 5 times. Apparently it has gotten quite popular because 4 out of 5 shows were packed and they were turning tons of people away until the next show. We had to sit on the front bench for one of the shows, which is not as easy to draw. One of our animators was a complete dud, but the others were great!

We rode the Great Movie Ride to pass the time until our Toy Story Fastpasses could be used. My husband really wanted the Western scene so he asked if we could wait to see it. The CM was very nice and told us of course we could wait, but that they rarely do the Western scene so we'd have to wait through 2 more loadings before getting on. I didn't ask why that was, but I thought it was kind of neat. I always just thought they rotated through them equally! We got to sit in the very front row which was neat to see the ride track and everything, but I think I would really enjoy getting the perspective of the back row too. I love to turn around and take pictures when I'm in the last row!

ETA: I totally agree with you with the tired lines of the GMR. Every once in awhile we'll get a great CM who has such enthusiasm, but most of the time it's like they're just reading it off of a page in a monotone type of voice. I'm sure it's not easy to be excited about the same old scenes, but they need a pep talk or something! I always love the line that says something along the lines of "the horror genre is my favorite genre". It never occurred to me until yesterday that that was a line and they all say it. Up until then I just thought it was odd that they only hired horror movie fanatics :).

Yay! I'm so glad you're still enjoying the updates! I am determined to finish my TRs even if it takes a while.

How fun that you were able to make a short trip to WDW! I wish we could do anniversary trips, but it won't work with a teacher's schedule if I do return to teaching in September. Plus, it was just too hot in May. I do think my husband would like to do the drawing class many times during a trip if possible too because he's so good at it. It seems like the perfect thing to do in the cold weather or the hot weather.

Ooo, front row is really fun too! I think everyone should experience both the front AND back. When we rode GMR and waited for the western scene, we too sat in the front. It kinda scared me when they started shooting because I didn't know what to expect having never seen it before (or at least not having seen it in years and years).

HAHA, I don't think I ever really thought anything of the "horror genre" line either! I think that's the one line that I believe the CM is actually speaking out of truth!

The Hidden R2-D2/C-3P0 is pretty close to the Hidden Mickey/Donald (it's about 3-4 blocks over to the left)

Thanks for the info! I'll definitely have to look for that specifically instead of just focusing on the one I know about.

DHS is my favorite nighttime park. I just adore all the neon lights of Sunset & Hollywood Blvd!

What a neat experience sitting in the back row of the GMR!

Isn't it just so much more peaceful than MK at night? Not that I didn't love our MK nighttime EMH memories too, but it's just a totally different atmosphere. I think MK is more about getting riding favorites over and over again whereas DHS is enjoying the environment since there aren't as many ride options available.

It's definitely something I'd suggest! Everyone has to sit in the front AND the back at least once!

A Glimpse into Mickey's Imagination

After riding in the back of the ride vehicle of the Great Movie Ride, we were finally ready to make our way to Fantasmic. We had to stop once again to go to the bathroom, or at least I had to stop again at the bathroom. I don't know if it's a girl thing or whether my mom just raised me to be like this, but I MUST go to the bathroom before leaving the house or before a show or anything like that. It's like, you have to try, haha. I know it sounds as if I'm still a kid in Pre-K or something, but it's kind of necessary! I did drink more during the honeymoon too to stay hydrated, so more stops were needed than normal, but I also really don't ever want to be in the situation of being in the middle of a show and having to go to the bathroom! I mean, I have done that enough times during field trips with my kids. I had to take some girls to the bathroom when we were on a trip to see Cirque Du Soleil's show Wintuk in NYC causing me to miss some parts. Same happened at Medieval Times too! Girls, go BEFORE! So maybe it's because my mom taught me to be like this? Or I just have my own crazy anxieties?

I know I'm still talking about the bathroom in a Disney TR, but I just had to throw in one more story! I'm so crazy about the "going to the bathroom before you leave the house/apt" thing that when I was really sick and passed out last October and Howard had to call the ambulance because I was out for so long, I was still lying flat on my back on the floor but asking, "Should I go to the bathroom first before they get here?" I was so consumed with that thought despite being so out of it! We laughed about it afterwards because Howard was like, "You were so insistent about going to the bathroom!"

Yeah, thanks Mom, haha.

Okay, all of that storytelling was just because Howard took these pictures when he had to wait for me!

I could have just mentioned the moon in the picture above instead, right?

We made our way to the Fantasmic entrance and, of course, passed by Carthay Circle. I love seeing this because it was in this kiddie autobiography of Walt Disney that my younger brother bought for me at his school book fair when he was in elementary school. Seeing this reminds me of his sweet gesture!

We didn't line up very early for this, so we weren't sitting very close. We did get decent seats close to the center of the theater though. Behind us there were reserved rows with technical thingies at the ends of the rows. I don't remember if it had anything to do with the hearing impaired? I don't know why that came to my mind.

Watching Fantasmic while MARRIED! Here you can see the view we had. I think if I had the choice in the future though, I'd rather sit closer to the stage even if it means sitting off to the side. It's pretty amazing getting a closer look at the people on the stage and those that pass by in the boats and such. That's why I think sitting up close for Broadway shows is also awesome because you can see the actors' expressions and notice what individual people do as opposed to seeing all the action on the stage if you were farther away. Oh, that all changes if I'm watching Fantasmic during the cold weather though because that water spray makes me want to sit as far away as possible!

Every time I watch Fantasmic, I always wonder if it's going to get dark enough before the show starts. Isn't that kind of silly of me? I think I usually say something about it to Howard too!

I mean, one second it's bright enough to see everyone around you and then the next second, it looks like this!

This is my FAVORITE nighttime show. Move over WIshes. Sorry, IllumiNations. It doesn't get better than the build up of the music until the spotlight all shines towards the center of the stage to show MICKEY! THIS SHOW MAKES MEN CHEER FOR MICKEY! I love it!

Of course, I love the entire show, and I could probably say every 5 minute "This is my favorite part." But no joke, THIS is my favorite part.

Why? Because of those monkeys! Realistically, those things are the scariest things EVER, and if they were allowed to roam the parks, I would avoid DHS. I would never want to take a picture with one either. However, if I had the opportunity AND the ability to learn choreography (I'm a bit challenged in that area), that is my dream job at Disney World. I know it sounds totally strange considering the thousands of other job possibilities out there, but I love their dancing especially when they stomp to the music! I get SO excited about this. I'm actually really happy that it's near the beginning of Fantasmic because otherwise I'd be just waiting for it to happen. This way, I can enjoy the rest of what Fantasmic has to offer, haha.

MULAN! They really need to do more things with Mulan in the parks. That's just what I think. I mean, I'm all for the princesses and all, but Mulan is a WARRIOR! Maybe it's because I'm Chinese, but I just love how she brings honor to her family. I understand what it's like to fear bringing embarrassment to my parents and what it means to sacrifice. I'm not saying that only Chinese kids experience this, but it really is a BIG deal. I mean, the need to please parents so as to get like, a nod of approval, which basically means "love" is a very Asian thing to experience. This is more so regarding my dad as I'm a 3rd generation American on my mom's side of the family and my dad's an immigrant. Anyway, that's why Mulan is SO AWESOME. My mom would be like, "Donny Osmond sings in that one!" Haha. Oh, and if you're interested in trying to understand more about Chinese culture, read The Joy Luck Club! Yes, there's a movie, but I would suggest reading before watching! BOTH are VERY good though.

Wow, I am digressing a LOT in this update, aren't I ... oh well! Moving on to Pocahontas! At times, I still sometimes jump at the first gun shot. My mom jumps even more and when we watched it with her on another trip, I apologized for not warning her about it!

And out come the princesses! I like how they smush all the songs together as one leads into another. Though I mainly focus on the princesses dancing, lately I've been noticing Eric and think that it's kind of awkward because Ariel is a mermaid here.

There's Snow! Am I the only one who thinks "Snow" instead of "Snow White" because of Once Upon a Time? Howard and I watched the first season on Hulu, and then they finally got the second season on Netflix, but we only watched the first few episodes. It's the kind of show that you have to be in a mood to watch, but I do like it. Oh, since I was talking about Mulan just before, let me just say it bugs me that they got Jamie Chung to play Mulan on the show because she is not even Chinese! I, however, AM Chinese. I would've said yes had they asked~ c'mon now! Haha.

Now the EVIL comes on stage ...

And then EVIL comes out on the water curtain ...

And then EVIL comes out in the form of a snake ...

And then EVIL ... okay, sorry, I got carried away. I think this snake is pretty awesome because I like thinking about all the people underneath. When we watch the lion and dragon dancing that occurs in Chinatown during Chinese New Year, I've always been entertained by the people at the back and not so much the person who is at the head. If I couldn't be a neon dancing monkey, I'd totally want to be part of the snake.

Maleficent! SCARY SCARY SCARY if you've read The Kingdom Keepers! The funny thing is that "it's a small world" is still the scariest part of all the books so far, haha.

I don't remember the last time that I watched Sleeping Beauty. I hated the part when Aurora was walking towards the spindle kind of in a daze. That scene is so vivid in my memory.

Having seen this show many times since then, I like watching the people dressed in all black who control Maleficent the dragon. Despite sometimes being able to see them, they're really not noticeable at all unless you look for them. I think that's the amazing part of all things Disney.

But all is well, and evil is destroyed (at least temporarily!). And out comes the bright white boat with all the characters! Oh, I have to say ... what is up with what I've read about Megara not being on the boat anymore?!? SO WRONG.

Of course, I took video of parts of the show if anyone is interested. I was more interested in the live action than the water curtain segments.

VIDEO: Fantasmic I
Gotta love that slow clapping that builds up at the beginning, haha. You'll also notice that in this introduction, Mickey actually does NOT shoot the sparks from his hands! We didn't notice it until we watched the video.

VIDEO: Fantasmic II
FAVORITE! Love the animals in Lion King and those MONKEYS! Those creepy but really awesome ones stomping on the beat!

VIDEO: Fantasmic III
I wouldn't mind being in this scene too riding the boats! The best part to watch during the Pocahontas scene is the guy who quickly unlatches the stack of logs and then they all fall on him. I mean, clearly you're not supposed to really see that the guy does it because it'd be like, doing it to himself, but sometimes the cast member made it really obvious! This one was one of the funnier ones! The princesses are also in this clip, so you can watch how Eric just stands and walks from side to side.

VIDEO: Fantasmic IV
Sorry, but I think the snake is much more interesting than pear-shaped Mickey.

VIDEO: Fantasmic V
I'd very much like to see the mechanics involved in Maleficent rising into the air. It reminds me a lot of Elphaba rising into the air for "Defying Gravity" in Wicked. I also think it'd be awesome if Howard can one day get a great shot of Mickey picking up the sword! I love those photos of the show!

VIDEO: Fantasmic VI
For those of you who know the show really well, what happened with Pluto? Was he running to catch up to get to his spot? And yay for Minnie in helping him pick up his streamer! And why oh why are people leaving when Mickey appears at the top of the mountain? And then the best part is coming up! And what I meant was the finale of the show and NOT when I turn the camera to face a smiling Howard and me, haha.

Even watching these videos that aren't great quality, I still get the chills. I don't know why this music has SUCH an effect on me, but I LOVE it. I remember they played this song SO often on DIS Radio (oh, how I miss it!)

Leaving DHS

There really is not reason why there has to be a separate post for the pictures of us leaving, haha, but it wouldn't fit at the end of the Fantasmic update. There really isn't that much of a need for a video either, but I guess the fairly quiet streets and the feel of being at a park at night compelled me to record and make a few comments here and there.

VIDEO: Leaving DHS

The crowds were pretty low while we walked out. If you watched the video, you heard that we actually waited for the second showing of Fantasmic. If it's possible, I highly recommend doing that. Of course, why wouldn't I suggest doing something that gives you more time in the park?

I also made a comment because many of the CMs we saw were waving with the Mickey gloves. Do they just grab 'em from a bin at the end of the night or do they all have their own? What if the person before you is a germy person? Haha. I'm a rather big germaphobe as I would get really upset when a student would touch my stuff. Sometimes when a kid came up without his or her name on the paper, I'd point it out and he/she would pick up my pen from my desk and say, "Can I use this?" and I'd CRINGE! If they didn't pick it up, I'd make them go back and get their own. Haha, is that bad? I had Purell on my desk and lotion too since the Purell would dry my hands out! I can't help thinking about germs though because if they're around, 80% of the time, I will get sick too.

I love the colors of the little bus info building. Seems so retro even though mint is supposedly a popular color now.

We happily walked to the first stop instead of having to trek all the way down to one farther away. Staying at AKL vs. staying at Pop during our next on property trip was so different even when it came to bus stops!

Is that going to be our bus?

Here's hoping!

HOORAY! It is! It's reassuring when there are other people at the bus stop before you get there because then you know you didn't JUST miss it. I don't mind waiting, but it always stings when you know one passed by not too long ago.

On the bus and MARRIED.

Time to get some sleep because the next day was nighttime EMH hours at Magic Kingdom!

Chocolate Croissant Morning

We knew that we were going to stay late for EMH at Magic Kingdom the next day, but we still wanted to get there to enjoy as much of the park as possible. Of course, having stayed out late the night before and just hitting a park every day of our honeymoon, we were really getting even MORE tired. Yeah, we were "weak sauce" from the wedding preparation and actual day, but Disney is tiring too! The GOOD kind of tiring though. But we did choose to sleep in that morning because we wanted to experience late hours, something we had NEVER done before because of staying on property.

Staying on site also opens up new possibilities like stopping by Mara to pick up a chocolate croissant to share! There was NO way I could "commute" to our destination without some food in my stomach.

Despite these pictures, we DID share it even though it looks like I was the only one devouring it! I didn't expect it to be so tasty. Yes, we were starving since it was already afternoon hours from what I remember so anything at that time tastes good. But it really was so buttery and chocolatey. I'm not that big of a fan of croissants in the first place because the greasiness can sometimes make me sick due to not having a gallbladder anymore, but this was really good and I wouldn't have minded having one EVERY MORNING.

We were waiting for a bus at such an odd time that the stop was basically empty. Ahh, shade. We really appreciated that!

I'm pretty sure we took the Epcot bus so that we could hop on the monorail, but I could be wrong. I really don't like the ride to MK at all because it just seems SO long, and I start getting nervous about motion sickness even though it's not nearly enough time for that to happen. I clearly have a ton of anxieties! Our destination was the Polynesian!

It was the second time we had been to the Polynesian since we ate at 'Ohana during our friends and cousins trip. This time, however, we were eating at Kona Cafe! We actually had an ADR for the following day according to my emails, so I either changed it or we just went up and asked for any openings since it was still fairly early.

We were able to get a beeper even though the CM at the desk didn't seem like she was in a very good mood in general. We just took in the atmosphere of the resort we had initially thought we'd want to stay at for our honeymoon.

It really is absolutely beautiful, and of course, being SO close to MK and even Epcot would've been so much fun with APs! But looking back on it, Animal Kingdom Lodge was the greatest decision even though at the time it was a decision made just to save money. The resort is beautiful, and we really loved how quiet it was. Plus, the ability to have all these fantastic views at many of the windows was just so surreal! And let's not forget that we fell in love with Sanaa and Boma! Oh wait, Boma hasn't occurred yet ...

Even if we had to stay at a plain ol' hotel off property, we still would have had a great honeymoon because we would've been together!

I know. I'm such a sap, but this guy made me so happy and STILL makes me so happy!

And the happiness is even before we had any of the good food from Kona! Haha.

Just letting you know that I've been reading along! Such fun updates!

Catching up! I love all the Hollywood Studios photos, it's so gorgeous there. Sounds like a fun Fantasmic viewing. And I totally agree, they need more Mulan in the parks! I'm amazed she doesn't have more in the Animal Kingdom, I feel like with Mushu and dragons that might be a good fit for her! YUM, that Mara chocolate croissant looks delish. Can't wait to hear about Kona! :goodvibes

Hi Rachel
I'm coming out of lurkdom to say hi! I try to come out about every 6 months or so..lol

I can't wait to see what pictures Howard can take with a tripod and more time set aside specifically for photography!

I wish they would have Mulan in the parks the way she was at the end of the movie after the epic battle. She doesn't have to look like Ping, but she can still be a girl who fights! I don't really like the outfit she has on when at Epcot.

You Can Never Have Enough Pics of KONA BREAD

Despite being told that we'd have to wait a bit, we were seated rather quickly. I guess being a duo makes it easier to get last minute reservations as opposed to larger groups! Yay for that! It helps on rides like Toy Story Mania and can help with getting a table at Kona! We were really excited to finally eat here!

Howard took the above picture and then I saw it and needed another picture to show that I do indeed have hair! Haha. Am I the only girl who feels weird about pictures when her hair is pulled back? That's the reason why I needed to have my hair half up and half down for the wedding. I typically like leaving my hair down if possible, but it always gets pulled up when it's hot, when it gets staticky in the winter, or when I'm grading papers and need to keep looking down! Don't mind the funky face though, haha.

We splurged on drinks once again with the pomegranate lemonade. We really never order drinks when we're out, but this was an occasion! That stuff is amazing, and I think it goes so well with meals without giving belly aches the way soda does.

But really ... how many of you were actually looking at the drinks and how many of you were looking at the bread? Cuz really ... THAT BREAD. Having heard a TON of good reviews about 'Ohana and the bread they have there, I was hesitant about this one because I didn't like the 'Ohana one at all. I was eager to try it, but at the same time, I knew I shouldn't get my hopes up.

In the video I post down below, you'll hear that Howard and I both thought that the bread smelled like "pineapple bun." If you're friends with me on FB or follow me on Instagram, you know that in the past I've posted pictures of "buns" at the bakeries in Chinatown. We get them often to have between Sunday morning service and Sunday School class afterwards. There's one option called a pineapple bun (we say it in Chinese in the video though), and we were reminded of it when the fresh bread was brought to our table.

It wasn't ANYTHING like the pineapple bun we get in Chinatown though. In fact, I don't even think there's pineapple in the pineapple bun, haha. I don't know what's in this bread, but it's so soft and amazing. Clearly, I had trouble choosing what pictures to include, so I pretty much added them all because I was just so in love with this bread!

It might be the best bread on property except that I haven't really had a chance to try many of the varieties at WDW, so I guess I better get working on that, right?

It also comes with macadmia nut butter. I really didn't expect to like this either because I'm not a fan of macadamia nuts, but this is delectable. Doesn't this look so much like ice cream? It had the perfect consistency too because it was easily spreadable since it was more of a whipped butter. I don't like it when restaurants serve butter that's as hard as a rock.

VIDEO: Devouring Bread at Kona Cafe
Howard and I ramble a lot in this video about things that are probably not as interesting to you guys as they are to me! Besides the amazing bread, we also were talking about something that just blew my mind. Howard told me that "sik-on-jow" doesn't actually mean "eat lunch" in Chinese! He was explaining to me that the phrases I knew actually meant to eat at a certain time of the day. I could barely handle it, haha.

Anyway, our server eventually brought our appetizers. We had the Sticky Wings for Two that were actually split into two separate plates. I had seen pictures of these before, but I didn't realize that each person got one of those servings!

The description is as follows: Glazed Chicken Wings with tangy Mustard Drizzle and Toasted Sesame Seeds. These were rather tasty! At this point in time, I wasn't very into chicken wings mainly because I'm kind of lazy when it comes to dealing with chicken on the bone, haha. Plus, it can get kinda messy and all that, but it was vacation and it was time to get my hands dirty for the sake of good food.

As you can see in this picture, we ate most of the bread. Throughout the entire meal, we kept picking at it too. I kept pulling the fluffy middle part of it to eat, haha.

But we had to focus on those wings! Is it just me or can that bread and those wings be the entire meal? How was I supposed to eat anything else after this?

Here's the proof that I kept nibbling it on my side! It was getting pretty hollow, haha.

I know it's kind of overload, but we were so happy to be eating at Kona so we took about 50 pictures of the same things. I couldn't choose between all the photos of the wings, so I pretty much included them all!

We were given some towels for our hands, which I appreciated because it helped me get over the sticky fingers issue. I wonder how nasty the laundry gets with everyone wiping their saucy fingers over those towels, haha.

We did a pretty good job, right? I know I could have been a little cleaner with getting all the itty-bitty bits of chicken off, but I had an entire entree ahead of me!

At this point I kind of stopped eating the bread, haha. There wasn't much left! It was so long ago that I think I need to head back to remember exactly how good it was.

(continued in next post)

(continued from previous post)

Howard knew ahead of time that he was going to have the Tuna Oscar. It's no longer on the menu. It's served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise. I had to get that description online and also saw that it was $21.99.

This is definitely a meal fit for him because it was just a huge slab of tuna! During our honeymoon, my favorite was actually raw salmon, so even though I thought this was good, it wasn't my favorite at the time. I'm sure if I ate it now, it would be absolutely fabulous because I've grown to appreciate tuna as much as salmon. Too bad I can't get it now!

I ordered the Shrimp and Scallops as my entree.

This also is no longer on the menu. It's described as follows: "Panko-breaded Shrimp and Pan-seared Scallops with Sticky Rice and Ponzu, spicy Guava, Passion Fruit, and Wasabi Cream Sauces for $20.99.

As you can see, I switched out the sticky rice and asked for mashed potatoes instead. Reading the menu description seems odd at this point because of the vegetables on the plate. That was the only thing that I really did not like.

They were like, really crunchy and had an odd flavor. I wanted to like it so much, but it just wasn't for me. I did, however, LOVE the shrimp and scallops! I clearly was enjoying scallops on this honeymoon as it's something we don't ever eat.

The shrimp was also very good, but I decided after the first one to peel off the fried portion of it because of the fact that I don't have a gallbladder anymore. Supposedly after having it removed, it would make it easier to eat, but my stomach is still rather sensitive to things that have too much oil or fat in them. Considering we had plans to attend nighttime EMH at MK, I didn't want to push my luck.

It's kind of sad because growing up, fried shrimp was one of my FAVORITE things. I could eat that with cocktail sauce every time we went out to eat and not get sick of it (not that we went out to eat often, haha). After having to pass it up many times and also eating it and not feeling the greatest after it, I've actually started to get used to avoiding it. Besides, it's possible to have shrimp in so many other ways (like in green curry sauce!) and not have to worry about feeling sick!

As you can see, I ate all the seafood on my plate and most of the mashed potatoes. They were really dense. I like them a bit creamier, but I'd totally devour all of it if I were eating it at home and didn't mind feeling super full! If we hadn't eaten all that bread AND the wings, I could've finished those last few bites. The vegetable mixture was not something I'd finish though.

Hope this doesn't look too gross for ya, but I just had to document the fact that I made a wise choice in not eating the fried portion of the shrimp. Seriously, it's so unlike the former me!

Howard also finished almost all of his plate too. He just left the edges of the fried green tomatoes that tasted a little burnt.

While we waited for our check, I snapped a quick shot of the carpet. I really liked the design! I was also happy that it was clean, haha. I know that is an odd comment to make, but isn't it so gross when there are carpets in restaurants that are just littered with crumbs and garbage scraps? Haha, I can imagine Robert Irvine making comments about it on Restaurant Impossible.

The check came, and Howard was filling out the tip info. I had to take a picture because I thought it was super cute that he was doing this WITH A WEDDING RING!

Let's zoom in on that super cute ring finger!

Bfeore we left, our server came by and was willing to take a picture of us, so yay! Doesn't this look like such a cozy spot for two on a date?

Kona Cafe really was a memorable meal, and though it wasn't our FAVORITE meal of our entire honeymoon, it was definitely delicious. We were SO ready for Magic Kingdom EMH!

:lmao: I really got a kick out of this entire update being mostly about bread. It's probably my most favorite food ever!! At the daycare my mom owned, we used to do a Secret Santa at Christmas time and whoever we picked, we would give them a gag gift and a real gift. One year, my gag gift was a loaf of homemade bread!! :cool1:

I also really love your video. You and Howard are just so cute! I especially loved the part about the butter being like macadamia nuts, but you don't have to chew them. :rotfl: Interesting about the Chinese phrases! That confuddles me too that there don't seem to be words for the different meals?? I had a similar experience when I went to school in north Louisiana and found out that a lot of people call the meal in the middle of the day "dinner" and the evening meal "supper." :confused3 I swear, it was English, but sometimes I felt like those north Louisianaians were speaking an entirely different language from me!! :rotfl2:

Oh my goodness! I hate pictures where you can't see at least some of my hair! It makes me look bald! My hair isn't as long as yours, so I always make sure to do something where it will be seen while at Disney- like a ponytail to the side or something.

And I would go to the Kona for just Sticky Wings and Bread any day!!

I really must try Kona for lunch or dinner. We've only done breakfast. Those sticky wings & bread sound divine!

That cozy booth is cute!

I had a similar experience when I went to school in north Louisiana and found out that a lot of people call the meal in the middle of the day "dinner" and the evening meal "supper." :confused3 I swear, it was English, but sometimes I felt like those north Louisianaians were speaking an entirely different language from me!! :rotfl2:

I would LOVE bread as a gift! I might have said it in this TR before, but there are a lot of meals that I might not find enticing. However, if they decide to slap the entree between two slices of bread and make it a sandwich, I'm all in! YUM!

Yeah, the Chinese language is VERY specific. Sometimes there aren't exact translations of English words into Chinese words because they use phrases to describe things. I can't think of an example, but as I ask my parents or Howard what certain things mean, it blows my mind each time!

Haha, it isn't just me then! When my cousin and I were talking about her wedding hair for next year, I told her why I wanted mine half up and half down because the pictures would look weird for me if all my hair was pulled back! I guess it's just one of my big concerns, haha. Like I blew my hair out last night since I knew that we'd be taking pictures tonight for Christmas Eve, haha. Oh man, I sound vain, but I just don't like my hair in a ponytail for pictures!

YES, wings and bread? Fabulous meal!

I really must try Kona for lunch or dinner. We've only done breakfast. Those sticky wings & bread sound divine!

That cozy booth is cute!

I thought about Kona for breakfast, but during our honeymoon, it just made more sense to try lunch/dinner because we were so not waking up early to get a meal, haha.

Starting off MK EMH

With our stomachs satisifed with our Kona meals, we were finally ready to make it to EMH at Magic Kingdom. If you remember, a few days ago, we attempted to get to MK for morning EMH, but that didn't work out because Howard had forgotten his memory card in the laptop. We didn't really make an effort to do any other EMH things because we were just SO WEAK SAUCE. But this one was definitely something we wanted to experience. Not before Howard took a picture of some light fixtures at the Polynesian ...

It was such an experience that we could just hop on the monorail to make it to the park. That's the one reason why staying at a monorail resort is so tempting because the bus ride can take so long. But man, that price? No thanks.

While we were waiting, we saw the tiki that is outside the window of, I think, BouTiki downstairs.

I remember when we first saw it from inside of the store during our February 2011 trip with my cousins. I was SO startled because it was dark out, and I didn't expect there to be a FACE staring back at me!

Gotta appreciate how all the trash cans even fit in with the theming! I'm sure someone has probably taken the time to photograph as many of the trash cans in Disney World as possible. They should totally make a game for that in the same way that they did the game for the costumes for the CMs.

The monorail arrived fairly quickly. I wish it were possible to commute to NYC via a monorail instead of having to take a bus, the ferry, and the subway/bus. I'd take the hour and a half commute more often if so!

I used to get super excited walking down this ramp to the Magic Kingdom, and it's not that I don't like it anymore, but I think I get more excited about DHS now. It might be because growing up, we ALWAYS went to MK even if we skipped the other parks. MGM is one that we didn't go to that often, so it still has the new park feel for me now.

It was somewhat crowded, so we decided to head to something that would be relaxing as we were still digesting our dinner. The TTA was our destination! You can see that there's a line for the ride, but since it's continuously loading, we weren't in a rush. We also knew we had the whole night ahead of us, so we weren't in a rush.

There's nothing better than climbing into this ride vehicle with my favorite guy ever!

I'm so happy that we get to be together for the rest of our lives! I do also look forward to bringing our kiddies on this ride too.

Tomorrowland views! I do love seeing Space Mountain even though I haven't ridden it in YEARS. I love these iconic Disney buildings.

But it's not as much as I love TRACK! This fascinates me, and I can never get enough.

It's SO odd to be on the TTA with people in every ride vehicle. It just goes to show how much more crowded it was than we had anticipated.

MORE TRACK! Despite how lengthy the ride duration is, I still get sad as we come around the bend and start to near the end.

But then we can get great views of empty ride vehicles!

You don't know just how excited I am about the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train because of the new ride vehicles! I loved when they first released that picture on the track. I'm so excited that they're doing testing. A girl can hope that it'd be done by January, right?

Such a huge difference from seeing these photos to the new photos that people are taking and that Disney is releasing.

We were ready to experience another new thing for us! That's why we headed to Adventureland.

What were we going to do there for the first time? Jungle Cruise at NIGHT! We've obviously done this ride many times during the day, but I had read that it's a completely different experience at night, and this was the perfect opportunity to try it. It was funny because the FastPass return time was actually shorter than the wait time, so we just hung around for a few minutes until we were able to get FP. Apparently we picked them up for another ride, but I can't remember which one. I'm sure it'll come up in the next few pictures!

These signs still remind me of Joni's games about the waiting signs!

Isn't that backpack so cute? I've been seeing these styles more and more in stores. Wait, not really in stores because I haven't really been going to stores other than Bath & Body Works, haha. I've been seeing this more on girls! I think they're really cute to have packs like this. It kind of reminds me of when the stylish thing was to have the mini backpacks. Backpacks are sometimes so much easier than purses and satchels and such.

We snagged our FP and then we decided to kill some time and wander. With our wandering, we found a pleasant surprise!
