My 8 year old would like an MP3 player. I don't want to buy her an ipod because they are so small. Well, the $50.00 ones are and I don't want to spend any more. I bought a Philips Go Geat Vibe for her but DH says its really hard to load songs from Itunes onto it. Anyone know another MP3 that works well with ITunes??? Thanks in advance.

You have to change the format if downloading for itunes to mp3 format. I would suggest amazon.com , walmart.com for your music and it is already in mp3 format.

The mp3 player I would suggest is Sansa is a excellent and easy to put songs. All have do is drag and drop to sansa folder and the music is on the player.

I would check slickdeals, gottadeal.com and buy.com for a good deal. I have not paid more that 29.99 for all my sansa.

That's what I was going to suggest. My 75 year old mom has a Sansa, and if she can figure out how to use it, ANYONE can!!

My DH bought our soon to be 8 year old DD one of those small Ipod's for Easter. I was sort of against it, just because I don't think she needs that sort of gadget right now, but anyway, she LOVES it. She's been really good about keeping up with it and it's nice that we can now share music since I have an Ipod as well and between DH and I, we have a pretty extensive library of music already.

My daughter has a Sony mp3 player. It looks just like the ipod Nano. Very easy for her to work. Like another poster said, we get our music from Amazon so we don't have to reformat anything.

Just go with the Ipod. For most kids, that is what they want.. when they hear Mp3 player they mean Ipod. I got my daughter an Ipod when she was 8 and she was fine with it.

I am worried about the ipod because of the size. I am going to look on the internet for the Sansa that was mentioned. Thank you so much for the info.

Like anything, if they really want it badly enough, they will take care of it. Get her a camera case or something along those lines to put into when she isn't using it so it is easier to keep track of. Also, tell her if she loses it, you don't replace it. I would go with an IPod as well.
