MP-3 player or I-POD? What's the difference???

I don't have an IPOD. We have one Creative and one Nextar. You should be able to fit plenty of music on there for a kid. I don't think our MP3 players could be any easier. I download songs to my Music folder, then I open it and drag them to the drive my MP3 is plugged into. Voila. That's it. I wouldn't waste my money on buying the name, especially for a first MP3 player. And you can get one for plenty under $100. Have fun :D

I like the ipods for kids b/c once you download itunes they're so easy to use and manage! I have ordered some more reg. mp3 players for other things, but the refurb shuffle is GREAT and easy for kids to manage....
don't know about managing other types, but apple products and services are very easy to use- you can get a refurb nano(I have one) for less than $100- it's great!
