Ok, not actually TO, but possibly close by. My future is pretty much wide open, and once the sale of this house is final, I'll basically have my car, clothes, and enough money to survive for a few months. So I was thinking of heading east, and trying to find a spot to settle down in for a while that is close enough to WDW that I could spend evenings there strolling around, eating dinner, watching people, and so on. Heck, if I'm lucky, I might even find a job working a food cart in one of the parks or something.

So, does anyone know a good area to aim for?

Clermont, Davenport, parts of Windemere are a good place to start looking.

Depends on if you want to buy or rent, how much you want to spend, etc.

Some starting points, excellent, thank you.

I'd be looking to rent, for sure. I've been a homeowner for 7 years now, the last 2+ of those all by myself, and I'm really not interested in jumping right back into that challenge. Besides, in addition to a change of address, I'm looking at a probable career change, as I'm pretty sick of doing work that I don't like, and which gives me no sense of accomplishment or satisfaction. So, I've no expectation of earning much more than minimum wage wherever I end up.

I'd rather be poor and happy, than rich and miserable. (Of course, rich and happy wouldn't be too bad either.) ;)

There are some apartment complexes in the southern part of Clermont that would put you within 10 minutes of WDW. Cagan Crossings would be about the most desirable. Sarah's Place and Nelson Park are probably to be avoided. Not sure about apartments in the other two towns I mentioned. Lots of CM's live in cagan Crossings.

You could also look into renting in Celebration, but it's my understanding that rents there are no longer affordable to many.

Happy trails and good luck! :wave2:
