moving to the CP

What do they sell there? Do they sell things that DONT sell in the park?

Well, the cast member shops (that are in the parks backstage) sell cast-member only items.

Property control sells items that are no longer made, or have a lot of. For the most part it was stuff that was originally in the parks.

I have a couple of shirts, a bag, several pins, lanyard hangs (they are like pinsm but clip onto the lanyard you can use to hold your ID), a water bottle holder (I use it at work).

I got a lanyard hang as well. They a great to hold in your IDs. You guys will have about 3 cards that you don't want to lose. A Disney ID (you use this to clock in and out, to go to the theme parks, to use your discounts, and a million, zillion other things), a complex ID (either Vista, Chatham, Commons, or Patterson. You can't go home without this one lol), and your Laundry card (well you can replace that, but you have to rebuy it, and as a CP you won't have that much extra money lol, it's about $5 in the machine, and they put $2 or $3 of that on the card. The rest pays for the card) The first two you are suppose to have on you at all times. So the lanyard just makes it easier to do that.

My favorite thing to buy at property control was Pins! I absolutley adore those lol.

Joanna--I wasn't able to find the CM only stores except for the ones at DisneyU. Where are the others?

Epcot (in the cast service building) and MGM (in the CM cafeteria).

Lol don't know my way back there haha. Last time I worked in DAK Lodge. Guess I will learn this time ;) Thanks!

No problem!

It's not too hard, actually. Ok, maybe the MGM one is. But it's really easy to find the Epcot one.

If i can do the s09 cp I want to take my car but i'm debating if it's worth it... I think that the airfare would be cheaper but i think it would be worth it to have my car with me, and to be able to bring my computer/monitor, laptop and a set of speakers, and maybe my bike.
I've read how it's often hard to get to a grocery store with the transportation disney offers and that work schedules and bus schedules don't always mix well (especially really early shifts)

the problem is, I live in washington, and if i drive down in january i'm going to skip as many states with snowy mountains as possible. that would take me south to california (i've done that drive in the summer to san jose in one day) where i could spend the night at my dads, then I would have three more days of driving (2 motel nights) to get there assuming I don't need to stop and sleep more in the middle...

I hope i can find someone else from washington on here that would want to ride along, chip in for gas and maybe take shifts so that I can make up my mind...

Im from CT but i probably wont bring my car since the pay Disney gives, i wont be able to afford to have my car down there. at least one of my friends from school just moved to Orlando for his internship and he will have a car so I may have to call him up and turn him into my chauffeur. I think its only fair since here at the dorms I had the car and he didnt.

The drive sounds tedious...but I promise you, having you're car will be really worth it. (Mind you this is coming from someone who is just 5 hours south of Disney...)

I am definately going to be bringing my car. I am from Austin, Texas.. so my mom and I are going to take a roadtrip from here to Orlando. I can't live without my mustang...haha! I go to school 30 minutes away from where my parents live.. and I live at school I don't know what I would do without my car!
