Here we go again, scouting out Florida. Went down last weekend, not impressed with the congestion and traffic and commercialization. We were looking around Clearwater. Then stumbled across Old Northeast neighborhood around St. Pete. Loved it, but very expensive. It's a possibility. Now considering Hillsborough County around Tampa and up north where not so crowded. If anyone can suggest some nice towns/neighborhoods we should check out I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions. My head is starting to swim with all the info.

Kallison,
Take a look at Oldsmar, FL it's right near the Hillsborough County line and like 20 minutes from both Tampa and Clearwater Beach.

No help here, except I'll try this again...take me with you!!!!!! I know you aren't crazy about moving there, giving up your property...but this seems to be destiny for you. Seriously, I hope you are able to find an area you can call home...and it sure seems like a lot of people are heading to Fl permanently...maybe you will all meet up at a FL Newbie DIS meet!;) I personally like Sarasota, but that is pretty far south from areas you are mentioning. Bradenton is a town just north of Sarasota....but growing quickly. I feel for you with all the research...hang in there!

I can vouch for OLDSMAR! We've lived here for 8 years now and love it! It is just north of Clearwater, at the top of Tampa Bay, between Clearwater and Tampa. Convenient to both and lovely new, affordable homes. Good school districts, too. Let me know if you have any questions.

Is everybody moving to Florida??????

If we had our way, we would be!

My cousin lives in Wesley Chapel in a lovely development. It is so pretty where they live and they are all natives of Tampa area and this is where they have settled down with their new home. We were out there this summer to visit while we were out to WDW and I loved the area and the homes.
