You can get an AP that is for FL residents only, much cheaper than if you live out of state PLUS you have the choice between different types. We have the least expensive which is a seasonal AP which has certain blackout dates (times I care not to go anyway). There is also a new pass which replaced the PLAY 4 (unfortunately downgraded)- 3 days for $109 or something like that but if you plan to go for more than 5 days in a year go for the seasonal AP, much better deal.
The resorts run FL resident specials almost all of the time...these are usually the best rates available. You can keep up with those on mousesavers.
And, up until now, the DDE (Disney Dining Experience card) which gives you 20% off meals at most WDW restaurants. I say, up until now because they JUST expanded this offer to AP holders outside of FL as well for $50. I'm hoping this is an intro rate because I just paid $60 to renew mine which costs $75 new.
Anyway, those are the main perks...they are definitely good ones!! Pays to be a FL resident
Im moving from Mobile, AL We were are WDW in July and if I had any inkling I would be moving to FL, I would have bought AP, but oh well. The move happened so fast.
Which area in Florida are you moving to? It is a big long state.
When we lived in Florida we had the seasonal passes- almost like AP only with blackout dates. I don't even know if they are offered anymore. We also got room only discounts often. There are some great resort discounts for FL residents.
The WDW perks were the only thing I miss about living in S. Florida. I guess I'm an upnorth girl.
