First off, can the tables at the campsites be moved? Specifically in loops 1500 and 2000? I camp a lot and often times the legs of tables are attached to anchors...

Also, is there a standard ?X? size for these sand pads or does it vary? I'm bringing a 10X15 tent and a 10X12 screen. I've been looking at pictures but can't get a scale and it looks like it is going to be close.

Thanks! I've been to Disney 15+ times but never camped there and been around this forum for 5 years but never read any camping threads. You guys supply some really great information here. I'm more excited about this Spring's trip than the last four or five we stayed in the resorts. :thumbsup2

The tables can be moved but are very heavy.

The sand pads are all different sizes. If you can't fit on the site they give you ask for different site. Make sure disney know what you need in a site before you arrive. Call reservations back and have it noted on your resie what you will need in a site.

Loop 1500 the pads are a little smaller and closer together, some also have trees in 'unusual' places, like the middle of the pad. There is a post on this forum that has pictures of this. However, this loop is closer to the Meadows pool and middle of the campground. It's also closer to the bus stop (smaller loop) so you do hear the buses and other noise quite a bit.

Loop 2000 tends to have larger pads with much less obstructions and a little more separated from your neighbors (emphasis on a little). They are also a little more out in the open, less trees and shade on a lot of them.

Previous poster is correct about the tables being VERY heavy, however none of them are permanently mounted and can be moved.:thumbsup2

I've heard Disney will bring you a second (or third, or more) table if you ask. I suspect they'd move a table for you if you asked too.

I have moved a picnic table by myself by lifting one end and "rotating" it 90 degrees, then lifting the other end and rotating. It is manageable by one person doing it that way.

The tables are heavy, but my husband and I move them every time we are at The Fort. We like ours under our awning. It's not a big deal.:mickeyjum:mickeyjum

Carol actually moved a Disney picnic table over 5 miles using this technique. It took her entire vacation.

:rotfl2::rotfl:Been there once with a wet solid wood table that had been rained on for a week and held an extra 30 pounds of moisture.

Thanks everyone! I'll make everything fit even if I have to set my tent up in the loop drive and park on the sand lot.

Just don't park on the grass.
