We are in the process of moving from NJ - SC. We were going to rent a truck and drive it down, but our house may not be ready.

Now I am thinking abou the moving Pods, has anyone ever used them and how was it. Did you need more then one.

Thanks any advice you can give.

Don't have an answer for you but just wanted to mention that we are moving from NJ (southern) to SC in three weeks.

We are using a moving company because my husband had back surgery a few years ago and we don't want to risk any injuries. It's costing us about $3000 for the move.

We used them and it was great. We could pack them at the pace we wanted and they were held till we were ready for them. If you are thinking you will have to store them for a while you might want to really cut down on what you move. I could have bought new furniture in some cases for what it cost to store all our pods. We used Door to Door and they are smaller than the PODS. It has been a couple of years since we did it so I don't know how the competition is now.

My brother used one from VA - FL. I do remember they had to pack what they would need for the first few weeks(and last few-with everything being packed away). I think there was a delay(expected) in recieving their pod. It is not like it will arrive tomorrow. But I know they loved the whole process and liked packing up their items.

We used PODS for our last move and were very happy with them. Just remember that they do get very booked up, so you should schedule drop-offs and pick-ups as soon as you know the dates you want.

:yay: My friends have used them and I help them move so...therefore its like I used them.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeal good idea, if you are moving yourself. Pack in YOUR TIME. No backaches or worry about what the weather is gonna be like.
Unpack at your leisure!

:thumbsup2

Thanks -

My DH thinks one POD 18' would be large enough - I don't think so. I just think we have alot of stuff, but I am not really good at judging. How long do you keep the POD for?

Plutolovr - My DS & myself will be moving that same week. Where are you going to in SC - We are moving to Carolina Forest, part of Myrtle Beach.
