When I have to move my desktop computer, once I unplug it, will I lose anything?
I don't have too much important stuff on here, not a bill payer, just shop and have my pictures but those are also on separate CD's, kept safely. But I am concercned about the music on my windows media player, even though I have all those cd's as well, I'd hate to have to put them back on again.
Ideas. Also, since I just spent my weekend doing 13 years of shredding papers, I came across a check from Dell for over a hundred bucks. But it's over a year old, what are my chances of getting a replacement from them.

You'll be fine as long as you shut it off properly before hand.
I did a cross-town move (well, technically I moved towns, but my two places were 5 miles apart.) Thankfully I was going from an apartment to owning, so I had a 2 week overlap. I took a carload every night of dishes, etc. instead of packing everything in boxes. Saved a ton on boxes. If you're just moving across town, as someone else said, don't pack up your clothes, just throw them in your car and move them. Unpack them when you get there, it'll save a lot of time.
Twice a year I go through my clothes, one time it's my dresser, the other is my closet. Yesterday I did my closet and got rid of everything I haven't worn in the past year. (Got rid of=donate.) If you haven't done this in a long time, I suggest starting now. I do it yearly and it still took me all afternoon to just get through my closet. Old underwear? Toss it, it's no good. Don't buy ANY new clothes until you move into your new place. If it doesn't fit, GET RID OF IT. That's my worst habit, and I'm sure most females can agree. We hang onto things because we think, "well if I lose 5 pounds, it'll fit!" No, it won't. Luckily I was in the right mood yesterday, I had stuff in my closet from HIGH SCHOOL!
