Moving Luggage From One DVC Resort to Another.....

Will DVC move your luggage for you from one DVC resort to another. Does this policy apply to all WDW resorts or just DVC resorts?

Bell services will take care of moving your luggage for you. They can transfer to any WDW resort with the exception of the Swan and Dolphin.

We were in WDW in July and the bell service moved our luggage twice (OKW to Movies ) with no problems. You just call down when you are ready to leave and they come tag your bags and you can go play and later on when you check into your next resort your bags will be waiting there for you!! It's all magic!! Have fun!!

I have a question about this. Maybe it will get answered on this thread w/o doing a separate thread.

We don't lock our lugguage when flying anymore since 9/11. We have never done ME always used TTC. So we would pick up our lugguage at MCO and transport it with us to a resort. We would then use those platistic clip thingees to lock it while we waited for the room to be ready and we'd go enjoy a park.

With ME, we won't see our lugguage until it is delivered. Will it be fine unlocked?

I'll be at POP for my first 2 nights in Oct. and then moving to SSR. Will it be OK unlocked then also or will I need to put the plastic clip thingees on it while it is transferred?

Just wondering all this because it is all new to me...

We have never had a problem using ME or luggage transfer between resorts.

I second that. I have used ME twice now and have never had a problem. I suggest anything of significant value keep it on your person with your carryon bags.

I wouldn't worry about it. But, I also wouldn't leave anything of value in them. ....I don't think anyone is interested in my scraggy clothes. Even my wife wishes I wouldn't wear them...

Just got back and we had our luggage transferred from OKW - WL - BCV. We just called bell services and they did the rest. Just remember that your bags will take several hours to get there.

Bell Services will even do Swan and Dolphin. We had our luggage moved from BWV to Dolphin in July.

If you have Disney move your luggage make sure nothing you need for that day is in the bags. You will not get your luggage until after 3pm and possibly later.

Ok another question....you check out at 11AM and then check into the other resort but room is not ready til after 4....do they deliver it to your room like ME magicly or do you have to call down and have it delivered once you get room. Do you tip both ends?

You will have to call Bell Services and ask to have it delivered to the room and someone must be there to recieve it and Yes we tipped on both ends of the process.

Thanks for the replies to my above question. I really thought it would be OK but thought I'd make sure. I have nothing of value...I sold everything to become a DVC member!! LOL

Also thanks for the S/D info. We're doing S/D for the marathon weekend and then moving to OKW. We were prepared for a taxi but if BellServices will handle it, than that is just super nice!

How do YOU get from one resort to another? Are there shuttles just for this purpose, or do you just get on a regular bus - connecting at a theme park or DtD?

After your luggage is picked up go and you have checked out of the first resort and enjoy yourselves at any resort. Then take the bus (boat, monorail)to your new resort. Easy as pie! Just don't forget which resort you are changing to.
As for luggage I always lock mine with either a TSA lock or cable ties. (Those plastic thingys for keeping cables and things neat.) Just remember to have a nail clipper handy to open them again. And yes i carry a bunch of cable ties in my luggage for the return trip.

I usually check out and go to a park - but ran into a great DVC couple from Wilmington MA - that told me that they transfer with their bags. If Bell Services isn't busy - you can tranfer with your bags.
