Hi everyone. We are selling our house, inspection is Monday. We have to be moved out, per our contract May 20. So, that means we need to find a place to move IN to. We have a second showing of a house that is in a great neighborhood but needs a bit of fixing up (new carpet, a few patches here and there, updating the bathrooms, etc) but its empty and priced within our range. I think we're going to bid, but all of a sudden I'm getting scared about the change!! I'm getting scared to leave our current house for fear that we won't like the new place! I'm sure it's just my nerves and brain overload right now.... but still, I don't do well with change! Is anyone else like this too? Any tips on where to score budget friendly quality furniture and washer/dryer??

We are in the process of moving into our new home as I type and although our starter home had been outgrown for some time and just doesn't fit our needs anymore I am still anxious about leaving the home I have known for 8 years and we have essentially done something to every square inch. It was a uncomfortable nest but still it was our home. Our new house fits our needs but it is still the "new house" I think it is natural to be nervous.

We got our washer on Craigslist. It is a Fisher Paykel which I had heard good things about.

Furniture Row has nice budget furniture. I would stay far away from Ashleys, they are WAY over priced and I have heard nothing but bad things about them.

Good luck on your new home. :goodvibes

Try Sears Outlet for your Appliances.
See if there are and Weekends Only stores in your area. I've bought several bed room suites from them.

We recently sold our home of 10 1/2 years and for the last 2 weeks, we have been living in a hotel. With 4 kids. Our housing market is just all out beserk right now and it's almost impossible to find a house before 20 other people have found it and submitted offers. We are trying to wait it out and also considering a move out of state.

The nervousness you feel is natural and I felt it too. It's hard to leave what is comfortable and known and move into the unknown. i think I cried for the first 2 days after we moved but I am lots better now. I am looking forward to our next home!

Best wishes with your house hunting and move :goodvibes

Its very natural, especially if you are buying a house that needs a bit of work.

We lived in our last house 10 years and we have now been in our new house almost 2 and I still miss our old house.

Our new house is laid out much better for us and it is a step up in space. BUT there are still rooms that are outdated so it bugs me because the old house was done to our taste throughout. I think in a year or two after we finish the kitchen and re-do the floors I'll be suitably happy :)

Rather than rush to buy a new home can you rent for a while and take your time? To me this is not a purchase I would want to rush into.

We plan to sell our home next year. Where we're thinking of moving is about an hour away from here. Before we build or buy we're going to live there for a year first to make sure that's where we want to be before investing a lot of money.
