Moving from POP to Grand Floridian During Trip ?'s

We will be staying at the Grand Floridian on our next trip. We have booked a specific rate and it starts on a specific day. We will arrive the day before that great rate starts and will stay at Pop Century. How painful is the process of getting our bags moved from POP to GF? I was thinkg I would set it up with the bell staff the night before, next day go to Magic Kingdom and arrive at GF that night to find our luggage.

Am I being naive and what did I miss?

We're doing the same thing in November. I'm hoping/assuming this is a very easy process and that they'll move everything for us.

I transferred between WL and Pop in Dec 05 and the process was super easy. I just called Bell Services the night before to get the scoop and called again in the morning when I was ready to leave. A CM arrived and tagged my bags for my new resort and marked anything that was breakable. Once we'd arrived at Pop we called and our bags were brought to our room. No problems at all!

Yes. It's just my wife and me and we wanted a cheap room on property the night we arrived before rates change the following day. We're actually thinking about upgrading from Pop to PORFQ because my wife hadn't seen pictures of Pop when we booked it. It would be great if we had kids, but the styling seemed a little loud for our tastes I guess. Not the romantic we were hoping for.

pop is fun and great for one night
i would take a cab over the gf with my luggage and then check in there
we did this last year but with the BC we checked in at 744am and our room was ready. We were staying concierge.

You just call to have your bags picked up and they will tag them with your new resort and you won't see them again until you check into your room at GF and call for them to be delivered. It's easy and painless, unless you need something during the day out of one of your bags
The transfer system works so that your bags will not be delivered until 3 or 4; I was told they hold all the luggage of guests transferring to other Disney resorts and then vans make the deliveries to the various resorts in the afternoon. But if you want to get up and out to the parks first thing in the morning and check out of POP, then by all means, it will suit your needs

My thinking is to follow the above and get the Bell Stand number for the Grand Floridian. Based on the above info, I'll start calling around 4:00. I am hoping we'll be able to check in without the bags. We'll see.

Better than the other way around (though I like the Pop a lot). I remember many years ago, moving from the WL to the All Star Sports. That was quite the shock.
