Hi,

Just a quick one...how easy is it to move between parks i.e doing 2 parks in one day?

I have envisioned doing one park a day but maybe this isn't the right approach...any thoughts?

Also are there parks where a whole day would be too much? I.e there is less to do and so should be combined with another?

Thanks

K.

Will you be driving between parks or will you be using Disney buses?
AK tends to be a park you can do in 1/2 a day.

Remember in order to do two parks in one day you will need to have park hopper tickets.

Even if you do a full day in AK then it often closes at 5-6pm so I like to get a bus over to Epcot to ride a few rides, eat and watch illuminations.

BUT if you don't want to spend the extra on hopper tickets then you could got to DownTown Disney in the evenings, or the boardwalk or just chill out at your resort pool or movie.

At the other three parks I would stay in the park to watch Wishes, Illuminations or Fantasmic. If it is your first trip you can easily fill an entire day at all four parks.

My wife and I would disagree. There is a lot to do at AK that it seems many people skip. The animal trails are fun to wonder and watch, Rafiki's planet watch can be educational and enjoyable. AK is not a thrill ride, commando type park, but more of a slow down and enjoy the scenery. In our opinion, AK is well worth the whole day especially since you can stay to close and then go to a later dinner at a resort like Narcoossee's, Criticos, or Yachtsman Steakhouse to cap off a more leisurely, less hectic day.

It depends on which parks you're trying to go from/to.

All of the parks are accessible by the bus system but this can be slow as you're looking at about 30 minutes to an hour transfer time. (depends on how long you have to wait for the bus, traffic, distance, etc) So you'll lose that time.

MK - Epcot can be reached via the monorail (with a train transfer at TTC)
Epcot - DHS can be walked to or via a boat at the international station.

The way I usually plan it is to break the day into thirds - morning, afternoon and night and place a meal at the beginning or end of the period (or both!)

For example my last trip we stayed at CR - woke up, breakfast at Chef Mickey's - Bus to DHS to watch parade (It was Star Wars Weekends), rode Star Tours and walked around then caught the boat to Epcot and ate at Via Napoli. Walked around Epcot til mid-afternoon then went back to the resort to swim/take a break then ate at the resort at 7 then went to MK to catch the evening parade and fireworks.

DHS and AK are half day parks as you can practically see and do everything there in that amount of time. (Unless you're into the frozen stuff at DHS!) Epcot can take an entire day and MK can take 2!

All,

Thanks for your really helpful info on this. We will have hopper tickets and we will have ample time to dedicate a day or more to each park. I just wondered about moving between for planning purposes.

I love the idea of splitting the day into three and planning from there, it's a great tip.

I won't be driving, we will be travelling in from London and sticking to using the Disney transport system.

Thanks again for all your views!

We have hopped around on our 7 day trip we didn't a park a day AK in a day closes early we went to other parks then the last 3 days we hopped parks and did the ride we lived the most! It was fun.
