I need ideas on what type of party to host for DD before we move in January. Do you think I should invite all 50 of her current classmates to a party and make it into a dance or should I just invite her closest girlfriends and host a sleepover party? I like both ideas but feel she would be leaving out some close friends(boys) if we were to do the sleepover. If I go with the dance idea I would like to have the party in December so I will need to reserve a place soon.

Which of these would you go with? Do you have any other ideas? :confused3

Thanks

She has 50 classmates? Whew!

I would ask here. She may be able to say good bye to her class mates in school, I would think that if I was 9, I would want a part with my closest friends. But it's always hard for kids to move, I would ask her first!

Why not both? You can have the bigger party, then send the boys home for the more intimate sleepover party.

I would let her decide and help plan it.

When we moved some friends threw a party for our twins, just finished 5th grade. They invited their entire class, 50 students as well. They had a pool party at one of the hotels with cake. The kids had a BLAST. We had sleepovers after that (didn't move for a couple weeks after school got out) for their closest friends.
