Hi,

I thought it'd be fun to watch some Disney movies and shows before we go next month. My children have seen a lot of Disney movies, but I was wondering what movies would be good for them so that they recognize the most characters that they may see?
So far I have on my list:
Toy Story
Peter Pan
Lilo and Stitch
Cars
The Little Mermaid
Aladdin
Star Wars
Beauty and the Beast
Brave
Dumbo

We just started to watch some of the classics like Robin Hood and Sword in the Stone. Since the "Long Lost Friends" (I know that's not the name this year but same idea--rarer characters) will be there, I want y kids to recognize them.

Have a Magical Time!

Don't forget Chip and Dale(didn't see them last May but always have before
Winnie the Pooh
Pinocchio(remember this ride and Snow White can frighten younger kids)
Haunted Mansion

Doing themed meals is always fun to do leading up also, like Lady and the Tramp while eatting spaghetti an meatballs. There is no ride there of this movie but always a favorite of our family:)

Hope your trip is very Magical and you leave with a ton of feel good memories to look back on!

If you're going to DCA, watch Cars for sure. My mom hadn't seen it, so I had her watch it, and she was glad that she did... otherwise she wouldn't have appreciated Cars Land!

We do this before every trip--watch every Disney movie we can! :) If you look online, you can find a list of every Disney movie ever made. I print up a list, and highlight ones that are represented at DLR. A friend of mine has an old copy of Song of the South, which you cannot find anywhere but somehow he managed to get a copy. I borrowed it a couple of times before our trips, which is great because Splash Mountain is all about that movie!

Wow! Thanks so much to all of you! These are all awesome suggestions that I didn't even think of. :)

For DCA don't forget Up and Brother Bear. If you're doing Storytellers cafe you may see Kenai, Koda and Meeko from Pocahontas.
Did anyone mention Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland?
