Movies That Make You Weep

Parts of:

The Mambo Kings - when Cesar gives his SIL, the woman he loves, books for a gift. Sigh.

Actually, the vulnerability of Armand Assante's complete performance makes me cry.

The Bridges of Madison County - when she doesn't open the damn door :rotfl2: (even though I agreed with that decision for the time being). But not really for the romance of the movie as much of life's decisions and the crossroads and where that takes one. And those around me nearing the end of their lives and decisions and looking back.

Good Will Hunting - All the pushing scenes. Laughing. When Affleck pushes at Damon to live his life and not waste his mind at the construction site. When Damon pushes at Skylar about "you don't want to hear about..." his past. When Robin Williams pushes at Damon that it all "wasn't his fault". And sometimes when Affleck shows up to pick him up and finds Damon gone to live his life and smiles at the thought. (Sorry for ruining the entire movie! Whoopsie.)

Fearless - when Rosie Perez talks about holding her baby.

Passion of the Christ---Have never seen a movie have such a profound effect on everyone in the theater. Not a dry eye in the place. I was worried that dh would have an issue with the subtitles (he hates having to read anything) but I don't think we read any of them anyway.

Only one I've seen that with was Saving Private Ryan. Sold out show and you could have heard a pin drop on the way out. Very sobering.

Totally opposite was when Rocky knocked out Drago in Rocky IV. The crowd cheered as if they were at a real fight (me included). :lmao:

I have 2 movies that are very moving and would hope everyone would watch them. They are Honor Flight and Murph the Protector

Honor Flight - I recommend everyone watch this movie. It's about honoring all veterans of WWII by giving them a plane ride to the WWII Memorial in Washington DC. It's the goal of Honor Flight to make sure every WWII veteran has the opportunity to see their memorial, built in their honor. This movie will make you appreciate all these veterans did and what they went through and how they lived their lives. It's a truly moving documentary.

Murph the Protector - Many may know of the story as Lone Survivor which is in theaters right now. Murph the Protector is about the life of Lt. Michael Murphy. He was the Lt. in charge of the mission depicted in Lone Survivor. Michael was a person in life that made you want to be the best person you could be. After watching Murph the Protector, you, too will want to be a better person.

I have never see Saving Private Ryan for that very reason. I knew I would be a blubbering mess, so just couldn't watch it.

YES!!! Rocky! I love movies that make the audience cheer. And Rocky IV was one of the best for that.

It's be easier to list movies I didn't bawl through. I just got done boo-hooing through Captain Phillips.

One I didn't see mentioned yet is The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. That movie left me in the fetal position sobbing for a good while. It was heartwrenching.

ETA: I made the mistake of reading Marley & Me and therefore never saw the movie. The book did me in so I knew better than to watch the movie!

Spoiler alert:

Movie ends present day - old man asking his wife if he'd lived a good enough life to have deserved to be one of the ones who lived :sad1:

Ok, now see, just that had me tearing up :sad1: Sad and military; makes me bawl every time.

Hoosiers
Friday Night Lights
Marley and Me
Toy Story 3
Apollo 13

And I just saw Captain Phillips the ending really hits you

I cried during Lilo and Stitch. When the older sister sings Aloha Oe to Lilo thinking she's going to be taken away.

My Life, with Michael Keaton. I was crying out loud in the theater... but I wasn't the only one! :sad1:

Some of mine have already been mentioned, but I haven't seen anyone mention some other tearjerkers: Message in a Bottle (ok, just about any Nicholas Sparks movie) or Les Miserables.

I watched one yesterday that was a cry-fest. The 5th Quarter.

OMG!!!! I forgot about that one!!! This was the first movie if saw with an ex-boyfriend. I was a blubbering idiot! I was shocked he actually called me again!!

Sports movies where I find the room gets a little dusty:

--Brian's Song
--Bang The Drum Slowly
--Field of Dreams
--The Natural
--Rudy

My Girl--always. I was anaplyactic to bees as a young child, so when we saw this in the theater (I was probably 8ish then), my dad and bro were even crying. Other than Beaches, I've never seen my dad cry at a movie.

Marley and Me. I didn't know what it was about and rented for DD when she was home sick from school. We watched it together and at the end when she's bawling she said "why would you show me that movie?"

Charlotte's Web--with Dakota Fanning.
