Hi guys-
I just got a call to babysit a little boy that i watch once in awhile tomorrow all day from 830-3ish.
His mom said she was going to leave his car seat in case we wanted to do anything during the day instead of just sitting around.
She suggested movies--what movies are out that a 5 year old would like to see?
any other ideas--it will most likely be chilly, so no park or anything like that..tahnks!

There really isn't any kiddie movies out right now. Maybe you could go rent a couple movies and make popcorn and bring the movies to you. My kids like this alot.

Do you have a Children's museum in your area?

No,,I cant think of anything like that around here, except for one almost an hour away...
the only thing i can think of is chuck e cheese and i REALLY dont want to do that one!

I would ask the mom if she could drop off a few of his favorite toys along with him. Also, renting Disney movies is a good idea. He could also play game on the internet. Nickjr has games along with dineyplayhouse. If you have playing cards you could play card games with him. War and go fish comes to mind. Another idea would be get some baking cookie supplies and have him help you bake cookies for his mom when she comes get him.

we do all of that stuff all of the time--i am one of his teachers at the day care center--We do a ton of stuff at his house, but i was trying to think of things to do outside ofthe house as his mom told me i could take him anywhere--it also seems to break up the day when i have him all day

How was "yours, mine, and ours"?

also--i was thinking about cheaper by the dozen 2---my mom saw it with my 6 and 8 year old cousins and said it was cute..so i was thinking about that..

It was cute...I just kept comparing it to the one with Lucille Ball..which was pretty different LOL!

My 5 year old son saw both Chicken Little and Cheaper by the dozen 2. I asked which he liked better and he said Chicken little. I even like it- didn't think I would but thought it was cute. Cheaper by the dozen was good too but I think was more for older kids. 5 year olds like annimation.

Thanks guys-
I wrote down the movie times for both chicken little and cheaper by the dozen--ill show his dad and let him decide..i know he LOVES burger king, so ill take him there after the movie..thanks so much!

My DD is 4 1/2, and her idea of a perfect day would be seeing "Chicken Little" (which she loved) and going to lunch at McDonald's. What 5yo would not love that? Have fun!

I would recomend either Chicken Little, or Narnia. I took my 5 and 8 year old brothers to see both, and they loved them!
