Movies at EPCOT?

DH and I didn't go to any of the movies this past trip but we usually see, at least, the American Adventure and France one. I really enjoy both. 360 degree movies make me a little ill so, if I go to them, I have to focus on one area or close my eyes during some of it (not to mention the downside of standing through it).

All of them are worth seeing once, for sure!
Yes, the effect does make some folks a bit woozy. 20 years ago I remember a person got dizzy enough to faint and crack their head hard on the wooden rail and fall in a heap to the floor. Sure wish they had seats.

The American Adventure is a excellent multi media presentation, including the finest in stage, animaitronics, film, sills and statuary. It presents a balance short vision of America and he history. It is not to be missed and we never do.

We love the China 360 movie. Its not likely that we will ever get there but every time we see the movie it inspires us to want to go. Canada's movie is fun, but we've been there several times. Enjoyed the movie France, more so since we've actually been there recently.

Agree with many of the above posts that American Adventure is the real standout in World Showcase. A very moving presentation that for some reason leaves me with a tear in my eye during the montage near the end.

It's interesting if you want to see what France was like in 1979. :joker:

Actually considering the movie is mostly castles, gardens, mountains and historic architecture - I don't think there would be much change other than quality of the film if you re-shot the same film today.

I do enjoy it because I want to see all those old grand parts of France. I have zero interest in modern France.

The french movie is worth it to me. Beautiful scenery and lovely music. Plus seats. How can you go wrong? I dream of visiting those chateaus

I've been to Disney many times over the past 10 years and it wasn't until our most recent trip (November) that we saw the movies. I'm glad we did. They were very well done, entertaining and educational. The American Experience is fantastic and the singers before the movie are great. Plus on a hot day with kids, it is a nice spot to relax a little. My kids nodded off for a little, which is fine with me - it made the rest of the day go smoother.

The movie in the American Experience (Adventure?) is awesome. It's one of my favorite theater presentations at Disney (but I also like Carousel of Progress, so maybe you can take my opinions with a grain of salt.) It's a really cool overview of American history, and the song at the end with all the film clips is especially poignant - anyone who remembers 9/11 will get teary at those scenes!

We also love the cheese Canada film, albeit the standing is not great and we often skip it for that reason. Martin Short is hilarious.

good call, I am a leftie!

I think we're gonna disagree on this though--the films are worth seeing, but they're also dated like Ellen's Energy Adventure is dated. I love me some Disney cheese (I'm still mourning the unjust removal of Captain EO from future world). But Martin Short and some winner of Canadian Idol are dated and cheesy representations of Canada, just like a lot of the clips in O Canada (Martin Short had his day in the 80s and 90s, and Canadians don't even watch Canadian Idol...)

Wait, I've seen this movie a zillion times, but I don't get the Canadian Idol reference?

Differences of opinion is what makes the world go round. Personally, I love the movies, especially Impressions de France. And as synergistic pointed out, they are a perfect escape from the afternoon heat.

Just saw the France once on my last trip. I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed its dated-ness. Still looks pretty good.

The American Experience is a great show. Well worth seeing, and get there early to hear the singers in the lobby before.

I would like to see them update some parts of it though. Maybe they can take out Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods and replace them with OJ Simpson and Brett Favre..... well maybe forget athletes, celebrities would be good. How bout Mel Gibson and Randy Quaid? Oh wait.... shoot, well I am no imagineer, I will leave it up to them on the best changes to make.

I've only did the American Adventure and I got emotional at the end, who knows why but I did. We are looking forward to doing the other films during our upcoming trip.

I love the movies too! (I just love them because they're a bit silly to me)

The Canada song (near the end of the movie, if I remember right?) is performed by someone who won Canadian Idol (according to the internet--I didn't know who sung it so I did some googling. I wouldn't have known the Canadian Idol bit on my own)

Yeah we always go to the movies in France, China and Canada, and we go to American Adventure sometimes which is good too. They're all good. I still miss the Norway one, that was always good too

I really enjoyed the movies. Wish they had seating in all of them. An Italy movie would be nice.

We love the Canada movie (we do it each trip) - it's the only one we've done so far, but our goal this next trip is do do all the others.

We never miss the France movie. It's a bit dated, but the music is spectacular. The American Adventure is good as well and is part movie, part audio-animatronic. The theaters for China & Canada are both standing but I enjoy them both. Canada is narrated by Martin Short, which is funny. I would recommend seeing them all once and then deciding what your favorite is.

And here I thought it was sung by Celine Dion (just kidfing). Tusks. I love that song and glad they kept it in when they changed the movie.
