Hi all,
Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong section. I was wondering about Moviemaker - several people on here have said they use this to edit their videos. I believe Moviemaker is on Windows XP. I wanted to try it out and want to know what I need to do this. I use a Sony 8MM camera (not digital). What cords do I need to edit video from a computer? My father in law has Windows XP so I was thinking of using his Dell computer. Any suggestions would help.
Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong area...

You can use it but, I recommend a slightly better program. I also dont remember but can you burn DVD's from Moviemaker? It's a good program but, if you dont want to spend much and get a slightly better program, get something like Movie Edit Pro by Magix.

You'll need to have a firewire cable. I can only edit movies on the Mac, but that doesn't have a DVD burner. (And I REALLY am clueless as to how to use iMovies!) But my PC doesn't have a firewire jack!

Am I doing it wrong? I didn't think the video could be transferred via USB.

It's true, you do need a firewire cable to keep the video from screwing up on the upload.
