Movie suggestions? 16-17 yr olds

All the Back to the Future movies are fun to watch back to back. We like to see how parts of them run together.

Monty Python & the Holy Grail, it is a cult classic. My friends from high school quoted the whole thing; man I love that movie!

My DH and I worked for several years at a movie theatre in the '80'. We have a blast watching movies from that era with our DS15. Movies he wouldn't think to watch on his own.

I would suggest some of the following if your group has missed them: ( I know some of them have already been suggested, I just 2nd them!)

the original Footloose
Ferris Buellers Day Off
Breakfast Club
Coming to America
Beverly Hills Cop
Lethal Weapon
Men in Black
Jerry Maguire
Top Gun...can't believe there are kids who haven't seen this!
Naked Gun
Airplane
Tootsie
Poltergeist

I googled 1980's movies and found this website and I racked my brain for most of these, LOL!

Unless you have an actual Movie Rental store - getting any of the older movies may be a bit tricky.

I love all of the Marvel/Avenger movies - watch them over and over.

Iron Man 1 & 2 (I know Iron Man 2 is on Netflix right now)
Captain America
Thor
Hulk

Zookeeper is funny
Super 8 is excellent
Kick ***
Zombiland
Terminator Movies
X-Men

Lots of fun and gender neutral movies to be had.

.

We have watched some of them on Netflix. Some we have gotten from the library. Several libraries near us have pretty extensive video selections....and it's not hard to get the older movies. Some can even be purchased in the $5-10 bins at places like Best Buy. Not a bad price for a movie for a group!

Thought of more for boys:

Back to Furture
Bourne Identity.....all 3
Star Wars Marathon
Rocky Horor Picture Show
Beetlejuice
Edward Scissorhands
Despicable Me (show it to high schoolers who loved it and were quoting it for a week)
Night at Roxbury
Rollabout w little Wayne
Waynes World (another loved by the high schoolers)

If watching a movie comes up, then put it in and make them sit for the first 10-15 minutes and before you know it they are into it and watching, laughing and quoting it. Sometimes it just takes a moment.
