Wow. What a disappointment. I'll never get that 2 hrs and 38 minutes of my life back.

If you watch it look for the Paul Reiser cameo. I though it was Colin Quinn. Paul has not aged well.

I actually went to the movies to see it!

I was so surprised at how bad it was. I love Adam Sandlar so I was pretty surprised when this is what we watched.

the only funny part of that LONG movie was Ray Ramano and Enemim. It was a horrible movie!

I actually saw that at the movie theater and it was the most unfunny thing I have ever seen.

I should have known after the first minute with the stupid prank call.

It seemed like it was a movie aimed at those in the Biz.

Oh crap. It is number 1 on my list to rent. Now I have to watch to see how bad it really is. :lmao:

But remember. Not only it it a bad movie. It is a long movie as well. Watch it at bedtime so that it puts you to sleep.

Trust me, I saw the the day after Thanksgiving. With this long dry movie and the tryptophan in the left over turkey. I took a LONG nap after this movie!

I actually liked it. :confused3 I went into it knowing that it wasn't a comedy though, so I wasn't expecting one. I think a lot of people watched it expecting a typical Adam Sandler Waterboy/Billy Madison-esque movie, and that's not what it was supposed to be.

Me too but DH & I knew that it was not a comedy so we liked it.

But it seemed like it was trying to be a comedy. With all the talent that was in the movie there should have been some good laughs even with the serious theme of the movie.

It wasn't a comedy, even though it was advertised that way. Nor was it very dramatic. It was a bunch of guys talking about anatomy. There a bunch of ways I could describe it but none of them are allowed on the dis. Lets just say numerous jokes that are basically someone telling someone else to/how they would "bend over," get old quickly.

The movie had no actual funny parts and the dramatic tiny bit was just another way to have people say gross things onscreen. It felt like they were so excited to say bad words and tell those jokes, like a little kid swearing to look cool for their friends.

And just for reference I actually do like other ridiculous films, I just failed to see what the reason for this movie even being made was.

I thought it was a pretty good movie. There are some criticisms I could make, but in general I thought it was an interesting concept and it was handled pretty well.

I found it to be a very heavy movie--lots to think about and interesting character studies. I spent a lot of time afterwards pondering the nature of change, privilege, loneliness, and what gives life value.

While I found bits of it to be funny, comedy definitely wasn't the focus of the film. It's not supposed to be funny. One of the central theses is that funny people are often pretty screwed up.

I do think it was marketed poorly--people didn't really know what to expect, and Adam Sandler tends to attract an audience who would NOT appreciate this movie at all. It was, as a PP mentioned, sort of "inside" for the entertainment industry.

We rented this last night as well, with high hopes that it was going to be great, due to the all star cast (and we are big fans of Judd Apatow)....it was quite possibly one of the WORST movies I have ever seen!!:scared: Way too long, dark, boring, pointless. Too bad....I think this is the first movie with Seth Rogan that I did not like.

See I saw it from an insider's view. The huge star with everything ($, fame but no real people around him) & he "helps" the Seth caracter but also never lets him forget who is the star. & the Seth character getting involved with this huge star & seeing his character develop. Yup, dark, some dark humor but I liked the performances. I think the good laughs would of taken from the movie's theme. It was just marketed so wrong. But hey we all have different tastes :thumbsup2
