I've only seen pieces of this in passing / from a distance. Is it worthwhile to be close? And would we need to stake out a space much in advance? I'll be alone with my five year old. He's told me he wants rides over parades, but I might have some time before our 11:50 CRT lunch that this would fit. He likes to dance.

A 5 year old might enjoy it. There is an opportunity to dance with some of the characters if you catch it in the hub in front of the castle. My kids are 8 and 9 now but my daughter is a crazed Donald fan so we used to pretty much stalk him and take a spot right by him when it stops in the hub. You should be fine if you arrive as it starts.

My 3 and 5 year old boys LOVE this parade. There is a great opportunity to dance with characters. You shouldn't have any problem getting a space if you arrive at the start. From what I've see, the only crowd is usually around the fab four..... We always stand in the hub directly in front of the castle. Woody and Jesse usually there. We've also danced with King Louie there.
