Has anyone else noticed that the selection at the on-line e-bay store for mousesurplus.com has really shrunk??? Anyone know why???

They stopped selling for a little while. Since they restarted, the selection has ben aweful. It used to be a treasure hunt with the stuff they sold, now it is mostly pins. What happened to all the furniture and other stuff?

We went to the store not quite a month ago. What a change from when I was there in the Fall! Major difference!
It was dumpy, had mostly furniture, unorganized and looked like a going out of business sale, in the final days.
Last Saturday I met a Canadian pin friend. She went to mousesurplus.com last week and described it being even worse than when we saw it.
She said it just looked like broken trash laying on the floor.
Rumor has it this was owned by two business partners who have since split up. :confused3

This was posted on their web site.......

Our warehouse is currently in the process of relocating. It's a case of one warehouse too small, another one too big. So like the Three Bears of storybook fame, we're in the process of getting one that's just right. Stay tuned as we ready our new digs to accommodate our 18 big rigs packed to the ceiling with goodies of all shapes and sizes for discerning collectors. In the meantime, shop online at

Apparently one of the owners went out on his own. CHeck ebay for auctions by surpluskingdom.

It's unfortunate with the turmoil going on, but thank you for the info.

Some friends of mine went there a few weeks ago - and we'd all been there a couple of months ago. They said that these lovely Wilderness Lodge armoires we'd seen (I'd considered buying one) were all broken, and that stuff looked terrible, definitely like they didn't care and were closing.

It doesn't sound like much would be intact to bring to another location, but we'll see!

I had also got the impression, that they were not on par with their shipping and such from Ebay.. They were getting negitive remarks, not only on ebay, but here and other boards, about their items taking a loooong time to ship, and just general issues..
Made me think twice about bidding from them..
However, then i got a email from them saying they were redoing the ebay store and it was open -- and they made several comments about getting back on track and customer service. Which helps solidify the past issues they were having..

Oh, and thanks for the info on the other seller!

The Truth

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, Brian here former owner and founder of MOUSESURPLUS. I and Chip Young, were the original owners of mouse, the new owner bought Chip out in feb 2006, The sale paper & work was never right plus huge tax issues and difference of opinions, led to long court battles, the lawyers won (ha ha), i finally got fed up and said have it, Chip took his monorail home I took all my items and merchandise, and disolved old company, mouse became a daily headache to me, I had to worry about partner and not focus on why i started mouse, the love of walt, and everything disney,i couldnt stay on top of orders with all battles and distractions. So i have started again from beginning, no partners, no outside influence, if a order is goofed im the only one to blame. i believe in giving to churchs, and chartites and blessing people and employes's when ever possible, the partner wasnt in to that, i couldnt handle that part. For all of you that supported us thru the years, thank you. i have made many great friends, been given and traded great disney items from around the world.Until our new location is ready, I will miss seeing you guys personally, but im focusing on getting the best items at a great price & stopping staff from wrecking items. for those who want to know im on ebay as surpluskingdom,or surpluskingdom.net, All have a blessed new year and thanks, Brian

Brian, glad to hear the "Truth" from your side. I checked out your listings and i am very glad to see all the familiar WDW collectibles back! I wish you luck in your new business, and i for one, have my eye on a couple items!

Thanks for the update, and best to you, Brian. I've been a customer in the past and hope to be again in the future!

Oh Im so glad that there is an alternative, when I saw barbie up on Mousesurplus I was very confused. They were not even Disney Barbies

I read on their blog in March 2007 that Mouse Surplus was to re-open a brick and mortar store in May. Has anyone heard anything else of the subject? Does Surplus Kingdom have a store that we can visit while in Disney?

Am I the only person who after reading Brian's post wasn't exactly reassured? (I don't know but it just doesn't strike me as real professional to post "stopping staff from wrecking items") I will stay away for a while longer!
