We're ba-ack...
MouseQuest was fun, but unfortunately, I do have a bit of buyer's remorse. (Mostly because we didn't win -- I'm pretty competitive!)
My kids (turning 4 on Friday and turning 7 next month) were a little too young for it, but Disney's description did warn us about that, so I knew we were taking a chance. It was really hard on my youngest to be in the MK without going on any rides, so DH and I split up a few times so he could take the kids on a ride or two while I chased after those elusive questions.
I don't want to give any spoilers because it sounds like the same questions will be used over and over again. (The CMs made us turn in all print materials at the end of the quest.) Suffice it to say that some of them were REALLY tough -- and a few were subject to interpretation/argument. I really hope one of the questions is rewritten -- each team noticed that it was totally wrong and pointed it out to the CMs.
Competition was fierce in our group: there was only a 9-token gap between 1st and 4th place. The grand prize was nice. I'd say it would be worth it if a 2- or 3-person team won, but if the team were much larger, the total amount paid for the quest would probably be more than the dollar value of the prize. The consolation prizes were worth approx $12-$15 each (a $12 prize for the kids and a slightly more valuable prize for the adults). Again, I don't want to give specifics because the prizes were kept secret from us until the very end.
The high point? DH and kids were going to do a little "research" (and get the chance to take a ride) on the train and ended up with Dream FastPasses that were being distributed at the Frontierland Station. They called to let me know, and I managed to get there in time to get my own Dream FP as well. It was ironic, because earlier that day, I'd wished aloud that FPs would be part of the prizes awarded at the end -- after all, you're giving up the shortest-line time of day by doing the quest in the first place. Well, none of the Dreams Giveaways were awarded as part of the quest, but it just so happened to work out for us.
