Do you really label the envelopes for tipping with "MouseKeeping"? Or is that just a term used here on the boards?

We labeld ours "Mousekeeping" and put Disney pictures on the envelopes.

I'm sure they would be upset if you called them mere 'housekeepers'.. It's mousekeepers all the way!!

ok...mousekeepers it is then! And on the envelope I'm printing pictures of Mickey next to it. Thanks for the replies!

If you enjoy doing crafty things like making envelopes, by all means do so, I am sure the housekeepers enjoy it!

I just wanted to mention for others who do not that it's not necessary. You can just leave the money on the bed or with a note somewhere else. On occasion I have left it tucked into the little card that housekeepers leave with their names on it. Not to worry, it's always been found and taken. (in hotels everywhere, not just at WDW)

I always print/cut out the mouseforless templates and put $$ in them before we go. It's something relaxing to do to get me excited about and ready for the trip. It also helps avoid the otherwise inevitable "do you have any singles? I need singles for mousekeeping!" argument as we're trying to rush out the door to the parks every morning.;)

We label ours with "mousekeeping" too. The kids draw pictures on the envelopes for each day. Last trip, our Christmas trip, the kids drew christmas trees, etc, for the mousekeepers. We always seem to be left neat surprises back!!!!!

:thumbsup2

We do this too with our kids. Its one more thing we do to keep them busy until our trip

:tinker: :tinker: I think they would be disappointed if they were not decorated and labeled "mousekeeping" but then I have been pixie dusted more than once.:rotfl:

I forgot to carry my envelopes. I asked several times at the resort and was told housekeeping had some but never got them. So I just used the note pad and wrote For Mouskeeper, Thanks and put it on the table in plain view. It worked and we always had towel animals.

Whatever you do, whether it be in a premade "Mousekeeping" envelope, with a little note, or under the housekeeper card that they leave welcoming you to the resort, make sure you leave something to designate the cash is for the housekeeper. On our last visit, I left $5 on a table in the middle of the room without any indication that it was for the housekeeper. When we got back from the park around 1 pm for a little pool time, we came back to a clean room, with a brand new towel animal, and the cash sitting right where I left it. I ended up tracking the housekeeper down and giving her a $10 spot for both the great job on the room, and for her honesty. In an unsure situation, instead of pocketing the cash, she left it. I think that's something that's easy to appreciate.

so, it seems to be a widespread unanimous decision! I made some with a picture of Mickey and then large print "MouseKeeping" in Comic Sans font. Should do the trick! Thanks for the replies.

As someone mentioned - I think I did this simply as "part of the fun" in preparing for the trip. Of course I could have left the cash out or done something a bit simpler (although this was quite easy)...but this did just add another simple fun thing to do. And it led to another "roll eyes" from my DW. Can't wait for the trip!

Wow, that's wonderful!

When I was a broke graduate student, my brother got married. My mom rented a suite at the reception hotel and paid for it. I was so thankful for that b/c I couldn't have done it without her. I even had to ask her to buy the couple a wedding present "from" me. I had change, literal change (coins) in my purse, which I emptied out for the wedding (didn't want to be weighed down). I emptied it out on a table, with receipts and notes and just the sort of nonsense that ends up in a purse all around it.

And the housekeeper took it. :sad1:

I'm glad to know that WDW people are more honest. :)

This week, we just used paper from a notebook and wrapped the money in it. My kids left "mousekeeping" pictures and candy everyday and everyday we had lots of nice things like animal towels, xtra soap and towels. By the last day both kids doing their best work and lots of candy (in addition to tip) left for mousekeeper. The kids had fun with it.
