hi all, i'm going to por next month and was thinking about how to tip the mosekeepers should i do this daily, weekly or at the end of my stay?
thanks all for your help!

I generally tip a small amount daily because you don't know that you'll have the same mousekeeper for the whole time you're there. I'd hate to have one person clean my room Monday-Friday, for example, and not get anything from me and then a new person shows up Saturday and BAM big tip when they only cleaned one day.

I make up envelopes ( decorate them with stickers, etc) before we leave (a tip I got on the DIS) and leave one out every morning. I usually do about $4-$5 per day

I also do the envelopes. About a dollar per person per day and a hearty "Thank You". I always assume that they are some of the lowest paid employees at any hotel so I do this at Disney and when travelling.

A daily tip is best-you're assured the person cleaning your room THAT day gets the tip.;)

Each day your room is cleaned could be a different person. So if you wait until the end to tip for the entire stay, only that person gets it. They don't split it with the others that have cleaned your room.

Just and FYI.

We stayed at Pop and were there for 7 days. We tipped $3 a day. They did a great job cleaning the room but we were hoping for more towel animals. We only had during our stay two we saw people with multiple ones in their room windows. I was a little disappointed, we really wanted more towel animals.

We just returned from CBR. We left a tip each day for the mousekeeping. just like others already mentioned it might be a different person each or some of the days cleaning your room. What we did was tip 4-5 dollars a day and placed them in envelopes with a Mickey Mouse paint colored swatch from Home Depot saying thank's.

If this thread stays to past form, there will be all kinds of debate about why or why not, mud slinging, insults, and eventually like most tipping threads get locked. :confused3

Mousekeeping is not defined as a tipping position. However, I tip mousekeeping for my visits. I usually leave $5 per day, and like the others I do this each day since often it's a different person. Why do I tip?, because I want to. ;)
