I am renting points (3 different owners; 3 different resorts) for a 14-night trip to WDW in May 2012.

AKL = 3 nights - I know we don't get mousekeeping
BCV = 7 nights - I know we get mousekeeping on the 4th day
BLT = 4 nights - we should also get mousekeeping on the 4th day, which would end up being our last night before departure.

So, now the question about tipping. We aren't paying extra for daily mousekeeping as we are fine with re-using our towels (and if necessary will go to the laundry room to wash our towels if for some reason we want to)

Is it customary to tip on the last night? Or for BCV and BLT, on the day that they come into do mousekeeping? I ask only because we have typically only stayed one night at DLR hotels and when we travel to Europe on a tour, all our gratuities for the hotels are automatically included in our price.

Thanks!

There doesn't seem to be a consensus, some people tip others don't. I say it's up to you and if you feel that you received special service.

You don't get any housekeeping. You will get trash and towel service. Your trash will be removed and your towels will be replaced. Any shampoo or other supplies will be replaced. No beds will be made, no vacuuming, no wiping counters. Unless you have the towels all over the place and the trash is running over the tops of the trash cans and they are full of dirty diapers and such, there is no need to tip. They will be in and out of your room in ten minutes or less.

Mousekeeping is not considered a tipped position by DVC or Disney in general.

Some tip, others don't. We always tip mousekeeping because they are cleaning our room to prepare it for the next guests.
Studio ...$5.00
2 bedroom $10.00

We hang our 'do not disturb' sign out while we are there, so we never deal with 'trash and towel service'.

I am all for the $5/$10!! We just came back from a split stay - 1 night OKW - 7 nights BLT - 1 night WL. Only tipped at BLT. Left $10 at BLT, the mousekeeper put away all the glasses I had washed, cleaned the coffepot I had left in the sink and put it back. I was very happy to come back from EPCOT and see that it was all put away for me.

I find the same thing if I tip on T&T day, not that you expect it but usually they do a little something extra.

I tip $5 on T &T day and $10 when we leave.
It is what I choose to do
