Mousekeeping Question

I had a question about the limited Mousekeeping services. I thought I saw on one of these boards (though I now have no idea where) that someone requested through MS additional trash & towel svcs. for an additional fee. I might have misunderstood the post but is it possible to request this for an additional fee? Thanks in advance for your response.

You don't need to request it through Member Services, just call housekeeping from your room to schedule extra service days.

Here are the prices from the member site:


Pay As You Play
With Pay As You Play service, you'll be provided with the following amenities free of charge at the start of your stay. After that, you may purchase more for the following fees:

Toiletries Package, $5.00 - 1 facial soap, 1 bath soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 shower gel
Coffee Package, $3.00 - 1 package of coffee, 8 sugars, 8 creamers, 8 artificial sweeteners
Towel Package, $6.00 - 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath mat
Laundry Detergent (only in One-, Two-, and Three-bedroom Vacation Homes), $1.00 - 1 box

Additional Full Cleaning Rates:
Studio/Inn Room - $30.00 per day requested
One-Bedroom - $45.00 per day requested
Two-Bedroom - $60.00 per day requested
Three-Bedroom - $75.00 per day requested

Additional Trash & Towel Rates:
Studio/Inn Room - $15.00 per day requested
One-Bedroom - $20.00 per day requested
Two-Bedroom - $25.00 per day requested
Three-Bedroom - $35.00 per day requested

Do they charge you if you just need an extra bar of soap or shampoo?

I have asked for an extra shampoo when I saw housekeeping in the hall and she just gave it to us. We left her a little extra when we left.

We've had no problem getting an extra bar of soap when needed. Also I believe there is no charge for an even exchange of towels.........lets say you have 3 used towels and you're in a studio so limited access to a washer/dryer. As I understand it (and have done every now and then) you give the housekeeper 3 wet towels and she can give you 3 clean ones at no extra charge.

Towel packs are supposed to be $6. DVC has no towel exchange policy or procedure.

If you check in on a discounted cash ressie Saturday, then stay until Friday morning on points with a linked ressie, when will the trash and towel day be? Does the cash night count when they are figuring what "day 4" is?

Certainly this would be a minor expense but, if you purchase an extra towel pack for $6 before T&T day, will you need to repurchase the towel pack after T&T day if you want extra towels for the rest of your week (do they just leave a set of 4 during T&T)?

Did you book the cash night through MS? Then, as long as you are staying in the same room, that cash night just is added to your points stay. So if you stay 4-7 nights, you get trash removed and towels replaced on day 4. If you stay 8 nights or more you get full cleaning on day 4 and trash removed and towels replaced on day 8.

But if you made the cash reservation through CRO, it's a new reservation for the cash night.

A towel pack is a one time thing. You pay $6 and get four extra towels until your next T&T or full cleaning. If you want those extra towels again, you pay again.

Thank you! Yes, both ressies were made through MS. We are in a studio this time so won't have the washer handy. I think I'll splurge on the extra towels.

I have no problem taking out the trash ourselves, but is there a dumpster that we have to locate? Or do we just leave it outside the door?

Sorry to hijack...particularly with such a dumb question. This will be our first time "home" and we want to make sure we know what is expected of us.

If you are at OKW or SSR, there usually a trash room for each building.

At the hotel type DVC, there is usually a trash room on each floor.

You'll have a recycling trash can and an ordinary solid waste trash can in your villa. In the trash room there will be separated containers for both. It's nice that Disney wants to recycle their waste as much as possible.
