Mousekeeping--Let's encourage WDW to bring it back!

I’m with you. I love when things are tidy, and that takes a little bit of effort when in a small hotel room with two kids. People touch the things I use and touch all the time, and we have never had anything stolen, so I have no qualms about someone in my room while I’m gone. I love coming back after a fun, exhausting day to made up beds with my kids stuffed animals tucked in, wet towels gone and new towels in their spot, coffee replaced, trashes empty, etc. I will miss it if it’s not back by late July!

You spend all day in a park touching things that thousands of other people have touched. What is the big deal about a housekeeper with gloves on touching things in your room? I don't get the housekeeper phobia.

Please Disney bring back housekeeping.

This was my biggest beef and noted it on the surveys I received after returning home. I don’t go on vacation to bag up towels and trash to put outside the room especially when paying $500+ a night! Then having to call every day to have more towels brought to the room. Don’t know if my comments made any difference but they need to bring daily mouse keeping back! Thing are starting to slowly go back to normal. Businesses are only going to be able to use the COVID excuse for so long.

As long as I have towels no need to touch my room. Even before covid I declined housekeeping at every hotel. Just don't see the point. Also not knowing when they come to your room kinda gives me anxiety. So I like my room always being available for me with no interruptions.

Yes what you said for sure...

Everytime you have a complaint or question something you get the covid excuse... Which at this point I am so over it...

I want Mousekeeping back! Those who don't can opt out. Other people prepare and touch my food while in WDW. Other people wash and put on the bedding and wash and bring the towels in the resort rooms. Other people have cleaned the resort room toilet and tubs before I arrive. Other people have certainly used the bathrooms in the park! Other people are breathing the air in restaurants! And as previous posters have said, other people ARE in the room daily for security checks. They no doubt can open/go through drawers and closets if needed. I don't know how you can get by without other people! In more ways than this post is discussing! Previously normal sanitizing conditions should be enough. Email sent!

you do know that security checks still happen even if you opt out of housekeeping. and these can happen anytime of day

LOL That would require logic.
"Control Freaks" will use any illogical excuse to gain control! They will lie, cheat and steal for it, unfortunately! LOL
It's a human condition for us all at varying degrees.

Meh it's not a phobia I just don't need a made bed every night. I legit hate tucked in sheets at the end of a bed so if they do make the room it's just a wasted time for them and a struggle when I gotta untuck the hospital corners. Some folks like the nice clean never lived in feel. I like living in the moment and enjoy the slight clutter we make on our vacation .

I think that this is on their list for sure! More people are getting vaccinated and they are slowly bringing employees back as attendance and revenue increases. I think that you will see, within the next couple of months, Mousekeeping return to the normal Pre-COVID daily cleanings with the option to opt out. They are bringing back the College Program and will hopefully not have the hiring/staffing issues that so many corporations and companies throughout the country are experiencing.

LOL, logic requires looking at issues from multiple perspectives. It's not just about you and what you touch. How many of the employees are willing to enter so many rooms and put themselves at risk every day? How much do you trust those people cleaning the room to take the same precautions that you've personally elected to take throughout your day at the park? It's much more nuanced than simply assuming it's a negligible incremental risk.

So with the limited cleaning, are they still doing “room checks” for security purposes or did they false sense of security fall by the wayside due to Covid too?

There are housekeepers cleaning hospital rooms, office buildings, theme parks , public bathrooms everywhere. There are millions of people cleaning public spaces all over the world...just not hotel rooms. It's all about cost-cutting with Covid as an excuse.
