Mousekeeping left me a sharps container

Stayed at ASMo from Sunday through Thursday. As is my usual practice while traveling, and the practice recommended by my diabetes educator, I was putting my used pen needles in a plastic pop bottle. When I got back from the parks on Tuesday, the bottle was gone and in it's place was a small sharps container. Would probably hold a dozen or so pen needles. Is this something they've always done? Has anyone requested one when checking in?

Yes, they’ve provided a Sharps container on request for at least the past 12 or so years.
