Mousekeeping Envelopes?

Hi Everyone!

I seem to remember reading about Mousekeeping envelopes or something similar on the boards somewhere but i can't find it.

Can anyone please help, I think these are a great idea and DD would really love it

Maybe I'll get some printed off for myself(WELL, i am mousekeeper at home! )

DD and myself have just spent a pleasant afternoon Cutting and sticking and generaly making a mess LOL!
We couldn't get our printer to work so we just printed off the pics and cut them out then stuck them on our envelopes!

Very artsy craftsy me thinks!

You should try it, it's fun and i think the Mousekeepers will be very pleased with DD's efforts!

I too have printed of the mousekeeping envelopes.

The first time we came to florida 10 years ago we had no idea about tipping ect so we just left some money at the reception desk when we left.

When we went 4 years ago we tried leaving a few dollars on the table each day but it was always there when we got back at the end of the day, the hotel manager very kindly informed us that his staff did not pick up money just laying on the table without it being made clear that it was a tip for the cleaner to avoid any misunderstandings.

So this time i have printed of the envelopes to avoid any such confusion this time round.

I tip everytime we go and you really do get better service. We leave a dollar a day per person in the room, which is Three $3 for our family. The maids will love you.

We also used the envelopes - and we filled them BEFORE we went, and then just popped them in the safe when we got there. All we had to do each morning was to take one out and leave it ready! No scrabbling round for small value notes each day!

When we have forgotten to take envelopes in the past , we sued the hotel's note paper (which they all seem to have).

We folded a sheet in half, wrote 'housekeeping' on it and stuck $2 inside. The we left it on a pillow where it was obvious. Worked a treat. Sometimes the note was left behind by the maid with 'thankyou' added

We did that the last two times we were there because we didn't know there were such things as Mousekeeping envelopes, Or even that the maids were called Mousekeepers!

I discovered the mousekeeping envelopes last year and printed them out. When at wdw, The Grosvenor first then AKL, I putout the envelopes but they were taken only once. My DD was disappointed. We go in 2 days and I wasn't going to bother with the envelopes this year.

Many of the maids don't speak english. If you encounter one of those, try and hand her envelope.

I didn't think of that, Maybe we could write something in Spanish?(our last Mousekeeper was Spanish) because i seem to remember a lot of Spanish maids at WDW.

If anyone knows any Spanish phrases like "Thank You for looking after us so well"? maybe you could let us all know(I do know how to say thanx in Spanish but the rest is all Greek to me he he!)
