I have passed my fitness test for the ambulance service, just need to have a medical & then it should be all systems go by the time I start it will have been about 18 months since I sent off my application. Even though it is not what my degree is in, it is career in which there are many options to progress.

I have also had a visit from the Tag fairy (even if it did miss a word out )

Congrats on passing the test! My friend's hubby-to-be has also joined the ambulance service recently (he's loving it!) and his seemed to have taken forever as well from day 1 !

What or who's the 'tag fairy'? lol.

Also, how do I or when can I change/add different words/phrases under my username on the left? Mine says Mouseketeer at the moment. Not that I have anything exciting to add yet but just wondering....

When I left school I wanted to join the ambulance service but was too young, so in the meantime I got a job in a dental surgery, that was 24 years ago. It's easy to get complacent when you have children, a mortgage etc., there are so many times now when I ponder a change, as Practice Manager there's no where else for me to go within the business and more and more lately I find myself wondering if I can face another 20 years of it ?

You can change it to something of your own choosing by clicking on User CP at the top left of the page although it will be in black. The Tag Fairy is the only one who can colour it. She spends her time flitting around the boards looking for funny or witty things that people have written and then tagging them with it ~ usually when they are least expecting it!

I know what you mean about being complacent, I have been in my current job for 8.5 years for which I was at college & uni for 4 of those years. As much as I hate my current job it made me go back to uni.

Aren't your local ambulance service recruiting at the moment? you could always apply now if they are.

One good thing to come from my application to the ambulance service, is that my parents have backed down & let me get another motorbike if I want to after years of being told no after I sold my last one but I want to eventually want to be a motorcycle paramedic for which I will need 5 years bike experience
