Mouse found in Room!!

Its not really the mouse that bothers me as much as the story about the COCKROACHES??!! A stray mouse wandering in, etc...maybe just a fluke...but if you see 2 or 3 roaches, doesn't that usually mean that there are like, hundreds more in the walls somewhere?? EEK!

ITA! Finding a mouse in my hotel room would not freak me out because I have found several of them in my own home over the years. Critters get in, and then sometimes they die. Sweep 'em up. Clean up the floor. Move on.

Although I dont want to see a mouse, I wouldn't have freaked enough to want another room. Bugs, mice, snakes...they are gonna get in!

We came back from DTD to find a frog sitting on the handle of our door at POR! It made for a good laugh and I would bet there have been a few frogs in those rooms. We saw a lot of frogs at POR!

Perhaps the little critter didn't wipe down all the faucets, doors, phone, and drawers. Perhaps drank from one of the glasses in the room. Might even be the bedbugs that got him.

It depends on the kind of roach. If they're the giant roaches (Palmettos) they wander in when the doors are open. We had those in the Houston area. The little ones could indicate a problem and I'd prefer them to be dead than running around live!

You would think housekeeping might notice a dead rodent in the bathroom. While I wouldn't have felt uncomfortable staying in the room, management should've undoubtedly apologized and offered to change rooms.

My friend just checked into all star movies tonight and they found a dead mouse in the bathroom!! She notified the front desk and they just sent someone up to remove it. No apologies or offer to move rooms. I suggested that she request to be moved. Anyone ever had anything like this happen.

I first thought you were talking about Mickey! I would not worry about moving if a mouse was found dead in the room. I would be more concerned if it were alive. As long as they came in and cleaned the room after the mouse was removed, I would be okay with staying.

When you have issues with your room or the resort always talk to a manager. A couple years ago we had an issue with mousekeeping and also brown water and we called mousekeeping and the front desk and got minimum satisfaction. The day we were checking out I saw the manager and we spoke for about 15 minutes about our issues and he said to always get ahold of a manager because a lot of times the complaints that go to mousekeeping and the front desk do not make it to them. So in other words "skip the middle man".

Oh wait it was a field mouse. When I was a kid we used to get mice coming in during the winter. They would come in through the basement where Mom stored extra food. My sisters would find chocolate chips and popcorn kernals in the skates all the time. Nothing putting your foot into a pike of moldy chocolate chips.

At least it wasn't snakes. Someone found a mother & babies on the top of the drapes in their CR wing room, 2nd fl. They posted pictures, too.

Now THAT would have not been my room...Id of even made the staff pack my stuff and move it.. that would be rather dangerous especially if it were some Pygmy Rattlesnakes or something of that variety.

Lovely I just booked Movies last night for next week, but as long as I don't have to kill them myself (of DH does really I wont touch them) I'm ok with it.

About 2 years ago when we returned home from our September Disney trip DH left for work the next day and I was greeted by 'Mickey and Minnie' in real life in my living room. Never had mice before and 2 moved in while we were gone. I'm sure it was quite a scene but I grabbed my boots and ran out the door to get my dog from my sisters (in my pj's and all) in hopes our 60 lb dog would 'scare' them off, but nope hours later I watched Mickey run infront of her face while she was laying down and a few seconds later Minnie across her tail. She jumped up looked at me and went and dove under the bed. I now have a cat.

We lived across the street from a park and the local HS football field growing up. We had mice in the house several times, no big deal, trap em and they are gone. Of course if my mom put down poison they look for water, that is probably why the mouse was in the middle of the bathroom cause it didnt make it to the water.

I had no problem with the mice; but one day after the football field was mowed, we let the dog out to roam around and she gave home with something in her mouth, my mom put her hand down to take it and the dog dropped half a frog in her hand. That was gross!!!!

Well no one is asking the real quest why did it just die like that? Ok there's a mouse and I would want a room change incase there are more but why did it just die on the floor in the bathroom thats the weird part

I'd say the daed mouse is there most likely because of rat poison.

Once eaten, rat poison causes the mouse to become severely dehydrated, so they come out searching for water before it dies. This kind of rat poison is very effective since it prevents the mouse to die in unconspicuous areas where it would rot. And even if it does die in an unconspicuous area, its body is already dried up which minimizes foul smell.
