I put in a new planting bed this spring, and have two mountain laurel. On a local garden talk show, they said not to fertilize a transplant in order to allow it to settle. Well, now it is falltime, and the leaves are turning yellow, as though it they are calling for fertilizer. Does anyone know what to do to "winterize" these bushes?

Since I can't post a URL in the message yet, click on my signature.

Then select advice at page top. Then read the tree feeding option afterward, from the flash menu (It may be a text option by the time you get there - I plan to replace the flash buttons with text links).

And, back on the home page, there is a drop-down menu at bottom. Go in that, scroll for the transplanting page.

Those should help out quite a bit.

Plants naturally shed inner leaves this time of year, so the yellowing inside may be of no consideration for fertilizing.

Thank you for the reply. I know that I am going to spend quite a bit of time on your website. It has an enormous amount of information.

When we lived in Yardley PA we had a mountain laurel, you're so lucky, they are beautiful.
