If Spidey makes you sick, you are probably going to have issues with FJ. Make sure you take some precautions!!!

Well we are heading out later this evening.. I plan to give it a shot either Wednesday night or first thing Thursday morning.. wish me luck!!! I will let you all know how it went when we get back.

Lasted less than 10 seconds with my eyes open.. was sick for several hours after I got off even with eyes closed... the worst motion sickness ride I have EVER BEEN ON....

Wife and kids LOVED IT.. said it was the best ride in Orlando...

Wish I could have enjoyed it...

Didn't you use motion sickness medicine? so that didn't help at all :headache: I guess I'll try is once, I just hate feeling sick.

Rats! I've been lurking on this thread, to get whatever tips I can about reducing the motion sickness for myself and my sister, and was routing for you to enjoy your ride.

Oh well, I've got to try it at least once when we're there. Too big a Potter fan not to give it a go. Not looking forward to the  though...

(((Hugs))) I lasted 17 seconds :woohoo: :lmao:

But I have positional vertigo which I have been treating (and it seems better) so I am hopeful I will last 45 seconds this trip!!!

Darn!!

Did you use something.
I was recommended scopolamine

Im really getting worried about this ride now..The only rides i havnt been able to handle are usually the tea cups..you know those spinning rides..they make me feel so sick..I hope its not like that. I rode mission space last Thanksgiving on the easy side and it wasnt bad but my dh and oldest ds rode the orange side and ds about got sick but he was ok. Im gonna ride it regardless just because i want the experience but im afraid now..LOL

I WANTED to love the ride, but didn't. I took a Dramamine an hour before, and felt ill the whole time on the ride. I didn't feel that sick after (took about 20 minutes), but only because the Dramamine was working.

Some girl sitting next to me after the ride rocked herself for an hour after the ride (we were taking a break from the sun).

I saw alot of ppl getting sick.

It's worth it to do it at least once, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it again.

The OPs have mentioned medication that they take for motion sickness. What do you take and how effective is it? We are leaving in less than three weeks and I am nervous about the simulators. I get a little queasy on Star Tours.

I'm going in a few days, I'll report back and tell yall how it goes. I am taking ginger pills everyday (already started them) while there I am going to use Bonine. Motion Ease (its an oil you put behind your ear, don't know if this works) and I bought ginger gum to use after the ride, if I feel sick. When I get motion sickness, I just feel dizzy and it usually passes in about 20-30 min. So mine, is not severe, but I have never done Star Tours, so I'm not sure how I am going to handle FJ. I can't do spinning rides, like Teacups. I am going to try and ride FJ very late in the evening right before closing if possible. DS get motion sickness too, so I am more concerned about him. I bought Bonine for Kids for him.

My DW takes Bonine motion sickness pills and she got ill. The secound time really got her.

Out of all the times my DS and I did FJ (maybe 15-25 times) 2 of the times they were cleaning puke off the steps after you get off.:scared1:

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

Team Members are quick to point out the garbage cans at the exit....

Maybe they need to make "I Puked for Potter" shirts lol

Did your DW just "feel" sick (like being dizzy) or did she actually get sick (vomit). Did she say what made her sick, was it the simulator part, would it help to close your eyes during that part? Like Coach said he lasted 10 seconds, what happens in the first 10 seconds that makes you sick? tia

I'm taking my fiance to US/IOA for our 4 year anniversary and her birthday for 5 days. She loves Harry Potter and she's been dying to go. I'm very very excited as well especially for FJ, but after reading all these posts about motion sickness it has made me nervous for her. She gets very sick on the Simpsons, other simulators, and even the Mummy if she rides on it twice back to back.
Has anyone taken anything to prevent motion sickness and had success? I read on this post scopolamine, Dramamine, and Ginger pills. I want her to enjoy this ride as much as possible and don't want her trip to be ruined. Any help would help.

Thank you

One thing is certain: People should definitely not ride FJ after a meal or a Butterbeer. Apparently the ride has to be stopped quite often for cleanups as people do cast up their cookies inside too, not just at the exit... wouldn't want to be the custodian in charge of FJ! :sad2:

Oh jeez...I am starting to get a little nervous now. I usually don't get motion sickness other than on spinning type rides. I hate puke though! I don't want to witness that coming off the ride either!!!!

I guess I am going to have to suck it up and just do it!

I usually use Bonine when I fly or travel or go to amusement parks. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
