My family uses Bonine as well, and it's consistently effective for us. It is also sold under its generic name, Meclizine, and under Dramamine "24 hour formula."
It tends to work particularly well with people whose nausea is related to inner ear-eyesight discrepancies. (I also use it for ear-infection-related vertigo.)
It doesn't make us sleepy like other remedies do, but we avoid taking it in the daytime just to be safe. Since it's effective for 24 hours, we take it at bedtime, so any minor additional sleepiness happens at night. Do be aware that one should limit alcohol consumption while taking this medicine, as it amplifies the affects of alcohol.
